Very well said @dmilligan! Although I am by no means a professional nor a photographer by hobby -- besides I just simply enjoy how/what certain people do together as a whole to not only move this project forward as well as others on a daily basis.

This is the audio I used for the sound test comparisons between Canon & MLV Audio levelers: Audible Dynamic Range Sound Test

https://vimeo.com/137855378

Looks pretty close to being spot on (unless you guys were referring this for recording MLV files not giving out the expected audio levels? I also confirmed this on both AE and FCPX whereas the Audio Levels were showing pretty close to what I was seeing in the clip, if not spot on!).

Hope this help clears things up.

      @Kaidian & TWIMC

Just did a comparison test of the ML to Canon Audio/VUs on my 70D+B1/111B & found them to be

Pretty Darn Close to being a BangOn DeadMatch.

It might be helpful to have the Peak Indicators Hold Position for a bit longer - If that is @all possible.

Thanks nikfreak and others for showing audio levels working OK.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled ML and now my audio is perfect. I have no idea why a mismatch was happening with my original installation several days ago. I can not even replicate the mismatch as no matter what I do audio levels work perfectly now.

Any chance FPS override will return soon? Otherwise is there a place to download old versions like Alpha-7b? Thanks again for all your hard work.

Added the requested 7b releases to the changelog section. Please note that I don't support older releases and don't want the thread to be mixed-up with old release discussions to avoid confusions.
I cannot make an ETA for the fps override feature. More info here.

Hi, does anyone know if this version of Magic Lantern has Movie Restart?

I see it has movie tweaks enabled but no details if this includes movie restart.

Thanks!

yes it's available. It depends on which fw revision you run. There was a bug report recently which reported it as not working but I just fixed it this minute for 70D.111B.
70D.111A wasn't affected but I was too lazy to try it out (30mins). Fix for 70D.111B will be included in next update:

Can somebody please let me know if there is any way magic lantern could make it so video recording is NOT disabled with wifi on?

This would be IMMENSELY helpful, in that it would allow us to use DSLR Controller to have a wireless monitor instead of having to go through USB. Especially if you are using a gimbal, this would be SO helpful.

Any and all responses from the community much appreciated. Thanks so much for all your hard work.

Hi Nikfreak, many thanks! I'll look out for 70D.111B.

Ah just realised, so it was 70D.111B that didn't work, in which case I guess I'll look out for the next update I guess 70D.111C?

No it will be called Beta-2 once announced.
A / B are only firmware revisions and the C you state doesn't luckily exist (yes!!!)

nikfreak: I do undertsand that this is a hobbie for you, and therefore you are dedicating your time and effort to this, for which I want to say THANK YOU. But I want to ask: How high in your priority list is enabling focus functioanlity? thanks

70D differs in terms of focus. It isn't jut words (has dualpixel af). For the moment we got DOF view and trap focus (in photo mode) as well as focus peak. Rest is buggy but I haven't been able to fix it. In other words: it might take some true amount of time until you see rack or follow focus coming to 70D (if ever).

With 70D rack focus, not sure but to me touch screen pull focus is as useful and much easier to use.

With AF facial recog, or even singe zone AF, with AI servo, is as useful as follow focus.

Focus peaks & zebras are great.  I like to use both for photo as well as video.

But if we could get Dual ISO for HDR shooting, and variable bit rate to pump up H264 detail now that would be kick ass.  JM2C.

It's in there.  I have an "A" cam,  Movie restart works with H.264 recording.  I've tested.

My apologies for allowing this one to slip under my radar.

Now I'd better be quiet until the next update. [emoji87]

Hi, everybody.
I noticed such bug that after installation of an insertion when pressing the button of descent two second timer turns on, in an insertion is switched off but only before switching off of the device, but it is worth including and everything repeats on new, prompt as all this to correct.

Hi everybody,

I´m quite new to this forum, but I´ve been testing ML since April and I really appreciate 14-Bit RAW, but as a film-enthusiast I need some footage with higher resolution. Is it possible to add a 10-bit Full-HD @24 fps (uncompressed) recording mode?

Thanks!

No, it's not possible unless you had a resolution like 1920x720.

I have a question regarding low light performance.

Lighting is uncontrollable, lens will be fastest available (f1.4-1.8 ), 24fps, 50 shutter (maybe even drop it to 30?), and iso will be cranked as high as possible while retaining a usable 1080p image, post denoising will be applied but should not be factored since it will be applied 'equally' regardless.

Does the high iso nr setting effect video?

So what would give me the cleanest image at lets say 1600 iso to start

1. Lets start with picture style cinestyle or prolast neutral?

2. Should I apply ML iso gain? Will i get pink highlights?

3. Should I shoot raw 1280x720 and then upscale to 1080?

4. Should my iso be adjusted slightly to 1250 or 2500 to get less noise?

5. Bonus scenerio: would 1280x720 raw have less noise in a 720p export or would an h264 downscaled to 720p have less noise

Thanks in advance :)
