@Johnny: Did his happen on earlier builds or is this your first time trying FPS override feature?

@All: Can anyone using 70D.111A confirm the issue?

@nikfreak:  This is my first time trying FPS Override feature on the 70D, so I hadn't tried it on earlier builds.  Please let me know if there is any other feedback / testing I can give in regards to this.  Thanks!!

Oh, I also had the test message with the LV Display Size, Timer A Orig, Timer B Orig.

Cheers!!

Thanks for the update, @nikfreak and there's definitely some progress made.  :D

Will report back asap regarding vertical banding, if any.

                @nikfreak

        Just tried 6FPS from 24 (1920/24All-I) & Did get Vert' Streaks - But only perceptible on a Frame by Frame view & even then Hard to see.

Subject matter may make a Diff'.

        Also ~ The Level is functioning Quite Nicely - No Freezes.

@OlRivrRat:  The vertical banding seems to be most prevalent in the dark areas of high contrast scenes.

Hi DeafEyeJedi, are you using Cinestyle? I got vertical banding in dark areas only with this picture profile, but only in normal video mode (no matter if it's high compression or All-I). Try to set the ISO at 160 and its multiples, because it's the native ISO and is not as noisy as ISO 100 (sounds weird but it's true). Also, the lines aren't visible if you don't underexpose too much.

I can't try it myself because I don't have the camera with me at the time, but soon I will install ML on it and start reporting my finds.

So I should run another test without using CineStyle and only use ISO 160, correct?

However, to my knowledge it shouldn't matter which picture profile I'm using since its recorded in MLV RAW -- so how could that be a factor?

Yes, test it again using the in-camera neutral profile (0,-4,-2, 0). I think you can use any ISO with this picture profile, but if you have the time you can test both 100 and 160.

I don't know but I only get vertical banding with CineStyle. I have never used ML RAW video, but in photo mode, if you shoot RAW + JPEG both pics are identical because they are made with the same picture profile. Maybe this happens too in video mode and MLV. Another thing I've noticed is that if you are in photo mode and change your picture profile, it also changes in video mode, and viceversa. This sets the camera to only use one profile for everything, (probably) including RAW video. My old 1100D and all the other Canon DSLRs that I've used had independent picture profiles for video and photo mode.

There's no (or shouldn't be any) differences in between CineStyle and Neutral profiles (both @ the usual 0, -4, -2, 0 respectively) but will go ahead and do so.

I was editing my first post while you replied because I hadn't seen your question  :-[  Sorry, my bad. Now your question is answered in my first post.

   " There's no (or shouldn't be any) differences in between CineStyle and Neutral profiles "

T'is incorrect ~ CineStyle is a Custom Profile that I believe uses Neutral as its Basis. Check this out ~

Actually I'm speaking of how neither would nor shouldn't play a role with the VB effects on certain ISO's -- not the profiles themselves. Plus the video you posted is directly for h264 shooting, not MLV RAW.

Anyway, here's Take 2:

https://vimeo.com/135930706

Basically it seems that every FPS settings you choose it would correspond properly other than being off by milliseconds (see clip) but this is huge jump in progress regarding FPS Override and I'm happy with how Slo-Mo's are coming together so far other than the VB occurring during under cranking (about 6 fps or lower) during MLV RAW recording BUT then I found something odd when shooting two same scenes with same settings and the one with more light coming through ( Iris @ 2.8 ) which shows no VB but when close it down ( Iris @ 8 ) then VB becomes apparent, strange?

Very good informations so far. May I ask you guys to test and report the re-enabled focus features, too?

Trap focus
noLV
- Hold AF button - mostly OK *)
- continuous - mostly OK *) , impossible to unlock with 2 seconds shutter halfway, I have use switch off camera. Sometimes this mode is not started immediately, but after second shutter use

*) sometimes, if I move object through focus distance, camera indicates focus (beep), but photo is not taken.

LV
- I don't know, how to use it. No focus and photo is taken, continuous freezes buttons like noLV

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with sound and format " MLV " .
I have no problem with the first created file, but with others I always the error "Audio failed to stop, state 4" .
This makes it impossible to export MLRawViewer .

I dont have this problem if i restart my 70D.

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank for this job !!!

nikfreak

posting oversized pictures won't help in resolving the issue. A crop of the image would be perfect enough. ALso w/o writing some text and describing the problem I can't help. Remember I stated it several times: I don't record any movies so you have to provide the info step by step for me to reproduce.

@Frarike: Do you have this when using fps override only or always?
@lojzik: can you detail your problems with focus features. I can't follow you but want to reproduce step by step...

@tomtom91: You may be using an older version. Use latest and retry.

@ Walter Schulz :

I use the last version "Alpha-7a2 / 8th Aug"

You are sure you replaced Autoexec.bin?

tomtom91

Yes, I always do a clean install

randomly this variants
1. Trap focus -> continuous -> set -> HlfShutter -> led permanently shines -> {trap focus ok}
2. Trap focus -> continuous -> set -> HlfShutter -> short led blink -> {no trap focus} -> HlfShutter -> led permanently shines -> {trap focus ok}
and then
{trap focus ok} -> shutter halfway (http://wiki.magiclantern.fm/userguide#trap_focus) -> {nothing, trap focus continues}

randomly problem with photos taking on focus:
{trap focus / both variants) -> (slow focus changing or object position changing)-> {focus taken - beep} -> {nothing, no photo}

edit:
problem with camera start with active trap focus
1. (camera on with trap focus continuous) -> (longer waiting) -> press trash button -> {nothing, only blink} -> menu button -> {nothing, only blink} -> menu button -> canon menu
2. (camera on with trap focus continuous) -> (longer waiting) -> press trash button -> {nothing, only blink} -> menu button -> {nothing, only blink} -> longer waiting -> menu button -> {nothing, only blink} -> menu button -> canon menu

.. canon menu -> trash button -> nothing -> menu button -> canon menu left -> trash button -> ML menu
