New to Magic Lantern

I cant record with my 70D
it says Error early stopped (10)
I played with the settings and it turned to error (11)
and now is  Error (14) where my screen turns all black and have to pull out the battery.

Is my SD card too slow ? or It's the camera itself

Walter Schulz

You're giving no info about your settings and your card. Therefore the answer is:
Maybe.

Delete contents of ML\Settings and retry.

Peut on désactiver ML
Pourquoi quant on insère un carte sd sans ML l'écran et noir ?

Thanks ML team.
On my one 70D  almost everything working. On the second, which was buyed earlier ML does not work.
I am very happy with the new capabilities. RAW video is excellent, very sharply, and opportunities in post processing are what I've been waiting :)

Bought mine in December 2014 and successfully installed ML alpha0, but nothings seems to work.
I tried Zebras and Cropmarks, but it's not showed on the screen while recording or during live view. Am I doing something wrong? I tried two different Sandisk SD-cards >class 10.

Edit: both are exFAT formatted btw.

Just to keep the serial # posts down.
If your serial number is 6871947635 or less, the alpha build wont load.
If your serial number is higher it should load.

That's what the trend has been, and that's what the binary points to. Post if your load result & serial number disagree with above.

There could be a freaky out-liner or so, but that that would be based on freak luck in random unallocated bits.

Here is another issue (that's not so much of a big deal) with the LiveView ML displays. Just went to charge the batteries from my battery grip and noticed:

- battery grip with 2 batteries the LiveView display reads battery level correctly
- if you only have one battery in your battery grip: battery level in Battery Grip slot 1 reads correctly on LiveView display
- if you have only one battery in your battery grip: battery level in Battery Grip slot 2 reads 100% at all times, regardless of battery level

Battery reads fine on Canon displays just faulty on LiveView in ML. Not a big deal, just thought I might point it out.

Once again thanks for the great work, enjoying it thoroughly.

ansius

the same is with every other battery grip (and camera, like 7D the same story, only one battery is shown) that supports reading both batteries (some alternative ones does not), it reads only one of them. As much I understood, it requires some revere engineering to find where the other info is hidden.

Plz check all reported bugs. Test Intervalometer, Trap Focus, and watch out for glitches, bugs or whatever seems wrong. Additionally do "Debug -> Burn-in-Test -> Quick-Test (15min)" and report you findings.

Burn-in test works made 5 mov's and created 2 .bin files
Intervalometer works tried 60 pics @ 5 sec interval
Trap focus works

Guys,

alpha1 delivers Trap Focus and it works fine !!

Only this one feature makes it worth to install.

The new Alpha 1 version can not install again on "older models", maybe you should first make the compatible version for all models and then make small improvements?

true, that's not going to happen. If you are interested, please read the first post to understand why. Let's leave people that can help with current version do their work. I believe it's the best way that we, who don't have a working 70D with this ML version to help.

Hey guys, can anyone confirm, if the dual-pixel focus thingy works when shooting RAW?

Felipe

People, Does this raw has Pink dots ?, I know there are ways to solve that, but does this has ?

Yup, dual-pixel AF works when shooting raw.  Currently no AF box, but it still focuses where you touch.

I think true has a point but it would make far more sense to get a stable version on known working revisions and take that stable firmware over to the mysteriously different devices at a later date, either way canon's shoddy version control has made life unmitigatedly more difficult than it ought to be!  >:(
