Hello guys, I knew, I fucked up. Tried to uninstall ML and I got a weird situation.
It's currently flashed with firmware 1.0.4 (which is required to use mL), now I can't boot the camera with the SD that I used to use with it. It just doesn't turn on, I can turn on the camera without a sd (previously removing the battery), but if I open the sd slot and trying to use it with a sd card it just doesn't turn on until remove the battery and pull it again. (Sorry if my english isn't properly)
What can I currently do? I guess it stills installed or something...
Thanks in advance...

Any special software for that? Any special option to check? @stedda
PD: I didn't mention, I did a format to this SD and it had ML installed on it...

Stedda

Full format right from windows explorer will do the trick... sounds like your card is still  bootable.

The same, just boots without the sd... Any other idea?

If you put ML back on the card (making it bootable) does it work?

I downloaded the t4i installer and put all the files on the sd card, then i selected the boot options
http://prntscr.com/5aq52x
With those options is ok, right?
Doing this doesn't boot, currently booting without the sd card only

Datadogie

Format the card using windows format not eoscard.

I did it, but it doesn't boot anyway.
I'm looking for another sd card but for now nothing is working :/

Insert card into cardreader and format it using NTFS file system.
Insert card into cam again and startup.
You will be asked to format the card inside the cam. Do this.

Oliver94

As you can see its ON but the screen doesn't show anything and seems that its not on because button doesn't works too

Walter Schulz

This happens with both cards formatted with NTFS?
If so: It looks like your SD-card slot is wrecked.

Oliver94

Gonna try with the other sd card.
But, if the sd slot is wrecked, is there any solution for that?

Walter Schulz

Any? Yes, if you will find a soldering wizard willing and able to fix this while keeping costs below PCB replacement by a Canon repair shop.
Motherboard looks like this:

This is a replacement instruction:

You may be able to order a spare motherboard by Canon support channels and replace it.

Oliver94

The prices over here to repair that seems to be very expensive, not sure what can I do. Seems that i'll have to buy a new camera (if I can)  :'( :'(

Walter Schulz

Again: Any Canon dealer or repair centre should be able to tell you the price of this spare part. Just the main PCB. Then you may decide if you go with it and replace it by yourself or go for a new or used camera as a replacement.

I highly doubt it's a hardware issue - I bet it's just a matter of OP not following the advice.

Important: after each failed startup attempt, make sure you remove the battery.

same problem hapend wit mine last month. i format my card using windows but it dint work. i also format my card using cmd. i think it worked after that
5D Mark III - 70D

Oliver94

Gonna test with a few sdcards today. Last night I realized that my sd adapter isn't working properly so I'm going for a working adapter today to be sure. But, it's possible? I mean, the sd is working on Windows but I've been reading and seems that can work on Windows but not in the camera.

Walter Schulz

Windows won't try to boot/autostart programs from the card. The cam will try to load autoexec.bin. And if you messed up with card's content: Cam will get stuck when a bootable card without ML files is inserted.
That's why you were asked to format the card using your cardreader.

Oliver94

I did it using low level format but doesn't works. Thats why I think that another sd won't work (haven't get another one yet)

Walter Schulz

Sorry, what do you mean by "low level format"?
And "doesn't work"?
- Won't let you low level format?
- "Low level format" successful but cam won't start after?

Did you format the card with NTFS or not?

Oliver94

Yes, I did a NTFS format and didn't ask for format, even didn't start.
That's why I'm guessing that sd isn't the problem. Im going to get a new one anyway today to test, because some people says that a new sd may work...
