Just curious:  has anyone tried resetting the clock or counters (if this can be done) to get around the 30min time limit on videos?  Can this be done in Magic Lantern?  If it can and if it works, the result would hopefully be a set of continuous 4GB files with no missing frames or audio.  ML could keep track of the number of times the clock has been reset, and set it back to the correct time when exiting from record mode.

Nothing then?  Can the ML source code be modified to dot this?

There's a video auto restart feature - only lose about 3 or 4 frames between restarts. Don't think the limit is based upon the time passed on the internal clock, more the run time length of the generated file.

I know about the auto-restart.  You don't miss 3-4 frames, it's 3-4 seconds.  I have confirmed this on an EOS-M.  Each generated file is around 4GB and roughly 12 minutes in 1080p mode (but not exactly 4GB or 12min).  The EOS-M will open a new file automatically with no missing frames, and without ML until it gets to 29:59min of recorded time.  ML will then restart recording with 3-4 seconds of missing video as noted.
