Magic.cfg and uninstalling ML

Hi all,

I have a question I can't seem to find the answer to.

I formatted an SD in order to remove magic lantern. It seemed successful, but once I viewed the SD card contents on my laptop I noticed that there was still a remaining ML file on the card itself called magic.cfg (ML>Settings>magic.cfg).

Just wondering why this file has remained, and if so whether it is ok to delete. I'm completely removing ML from my camera, and want to re-use the SD card, but I wasn't sure whether leaving this file untouched on the card might cause issues in-camera if magic lantern is completely uninstalled.

To remove ML from card and camera you have to follow instructions.
You have not followed instructions. Camera's bootflag is still set. And I have doubts about the card, too. Format it using a cardreader, insert it into cam again and format it again there.

Newbe question here -- How is a card reader different than using your computer? Aren't they capable of the same thing? I thought a card reader was for systems that don't have the correct card slot on the computer.

The card slot of your computer (if any) is a cardreader, too. An internal one.
