Hello everyone I confess that I have spent hours and hours online listening to videos are reading post of how to access the raw video recording feature on my Canon 60D. And after many hours I find not one post on it. I have ML installed on my camera (60D) and the MODULE feature is not there, and I've looked at ALL the features. Please, someone, anyone, have mercy on my and tell me the secret, please. I have the latest build of ML and I have the right firmware and I see all the ML features but not the dreaded MODULE setting that all the online tutorial talk about, it's not there, and I have deleted and uninstalled and reinstalled. If this is impossible tell me and put me out of my misery, I'll just move on in my life.  :-[

Okay I'll make this promise to sweeten the deal, I'm a professional video producer and editor by trade. I'll make a video showing how this is done if someone successfully helps me. I don't know if that help, but it will help a lot of guys that I see posting asking the same thing I'm asking. Cheers mates!

Take a deep breath and drink something, after all it is only photography we are talking about...

have you download from the nightly?
have you enabled the module?
give us more details and even some screenshots so we could help

DavidSh, Thanks for the reply.

have you download from the nightly? - No I didn't not, I installed the regular ML download and installed it. Do I need to add the "Nightly" download to the files already installed to my SD Card?

have you enabled the module? - Module is not displaying as an option in my camera.

give us more details and even some screenshots so we could help - Will do!

You've got ML already on your camera/SD card - good.
Now all you need to do is download the nightly build & then copy what you find onto your SD card (you will be replacing old ML stuff, but don't worry).
Put your SD back into your camera & you should now find a Modules section in ML menu.
Turn on/activate what you want from that menu (the RAW_Rec or RAW_MLV modules are there) & then restart your camera.
Go to video section in ML menu & turn on RAW rec.

Just a little note, the 60D is serverely hampered & will not do continuous RAW recording - faster cards will not help, its the card slot.
In the Canon Menu turn the picture quality to S3 (JPEG) only - you'll be able to record for longer.
When recording turn Global Draw off - again helps recording.
I use 1280x... crop modes - they upscale nicely to HD & give adequate recording times.
Also, the wider the aspect ratio setting the longer the recording time.

No! Reading? That would be too easy!
Most of the 60D thread is made up of these questions & it is 50 pages long, so people don't bother.
Going to update my second post with that link & a brief explanation.

Come on guys, give the man a break :)

Not everybody have the right attitude for technical reading. And as you say "if you cant understand this simple stuff maybe you dont belong here"
But Magic lantern goes mainstream. And i think thats a good thing.

Best
David.

David, thanks for your help and for running a bit of defense. This is my first time being here in the forums and I sincerely appreciate the hospitality.

As I mention in my post, I did a lot of looking before I posted, unfortunately I didn't find what is obvious to some. I came here for help, and I'm grateful the help I received. I'll take it from here.

All the best!  8)
