I have looked for a solve for this and can't find one. I don't often post as I just lurk. But this is really annoying me as davinci 9 worked fine.. now 10 is giving me these issues, says "change timeline settings?" then no matter what I click after that it exits. Any solve for this?

Hi guys,

I have the same problem! As soon as I import DNG sequence (used MLV module)  resolve lite 10 crashes!
Is it possible that the DNG Converter writes files, which messes up resolve?
Opening the DNG ins Adobe Camera Raw works just fine.

Any hints what to do or how to figure out the problem?

I've had some problems with this too but it turned out it was only with a few files.u
Used a different converter to get the DNG's and everything was okay again.
Just try to import one clip at a time, if it crashes with all the files i have no idea but if it only happens with a few files try to reconvert them.

I used the mlvConverter:

scarluuk which one do you use??

Just tried another converter MLVMystic_v0.3

It always crashed with any clip. I tried with resolve 9 as well. My PC is win7 and 4 years old, so I tried another PC with win8 and new hardware with resolve 10 lite. Crashed as soon as I want to open a DNG sequence.

Just checked, it crashes with one single DNG File....
I don't understand that.

You haven't stated which OS you use.
I'm going to assume you're on a mac with an older AMD card. Under some circumstances I've encountered similar problems summarized as following:

It happens when writing to slower cards with too high resolutions. Something under these conditions doesn't work with Davinci. These files work fine on Nvidia cards as well as the New AMD D300/500/700 cards. They also work fine in ACR. Something however makes them crash Davinci with older AMD cards. I reported it to Blackmagic and their response was that it works with the newer cards.

If in fact you're facing the same issue, the solution is to use fast cards.

Once again, purely speculation since you haven't stated what your OS is.

Not sure if I should start a new thread but didn't want to get penaized for it so how could there NOT be anyone experiencing constant crashing on DR 11.2.1 (latest update from BMD's website from last thursday) still doesn't help with the crashing?

Mac Mini (late 2012) 2.3 GHz i7 16 GB Ram with Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2... any ideas what could be the issue here?

I really want to use @Andy600's cinelogs/LUTs but lately I have been using with PP and it's just not producing the same look as if I were to use DR (according to instructions from Cinelog's site)

Sorry I'm just going insane in here...

So I'm basically SOL after spending the $$ on getting it modified when there's nothing that I can do with the current graphic card because it's scolded in. Correct?

Correct. The video card just can't handle it. What $ did you spend on modifying your box?

DeafEyeJedi

Towards upgrading the ram to 16GB and replacing HD for SSD (360GB)... Perhaps I should have done more researching prior to this.

Looks like I'll have to sell this MacMini and try to squeeze as much $ as I can to put that towards to a newer Mac Mini w a better graphic card... Hmmm?

Intel HD 4000. Not a good card. Got one at work. THink it works with intel hd 5000. At least I got mlrawviewer working with that card.

Agh schmucks!!!!!!!!

Strange everything else works fine besides DR11...

Probably a long shot; but I've had issues with graphics intensive programs on a MacBook Pro in 10.10.2.

Turning off transparency helped quite a lot for me (System Preferences --> Accessibility --> Display --> Reduce Transparency).

Phil.

DeafEyeJedi

Just checked. It was already off and tried it with it on but that didn't help either.

Bummer...

Thanks tho!

Actually this crash isn't really related to the "graphics card" because since v10 I've gotten this crashes and haven't been able to use davinci and I have a beasty workstation Z820 with 16 cores, QUADRO K6000. So I highly doubt that the gpu is the main reason behind these crashes.

It has something to do with magic lantern DNG's that the new davinci versions can't process or something.
I love this &^*$ MAN!

I am using Davinci 14 and have the same issue while attempting to import a cDNG folder: while draging it to the media pool the program crashes. I can't even click on the folder that contains the cDNGs prior to draging them into the media pool. I used MLVproducer to convert MLV to cDNG.

I have a very strong system.
Here is the system specif:
- Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Processor Socket-LGA1151, Quad Core, 4.2GHz, 8MB, 91W, 14nm, HD630, OEM/tray
MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon, S-1151 Moderkort, ATX, Z270, DDR4, 3xPCIe-x16, SLI/CFX, 2xM.2, Mystic Light RGB
HyperX Savage DDR4 2400MHz 32GB 2x16GB 2400MHz (PC4-19200) DDR4 CL14, XMP
MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X Grafikkort, PCI-Express 3.0, 11GB GDDR5X, 1544/1657MHz, Pascal
Samsung PM961 SSD 512GB M.2 NVMe V3 TLC, Polaris, up to 2800/1600MB/s read/write, PCIe 3.0 x4, prod only
2 x Samsung EVO SSD 850 - 1 TB each

I have even tried to put the cDNG in the C drive from one of the EVO SSD drives but that didn't help either.

I think it's something in Resolve 14. I'm seeing the exact same problem under OSX. Resolve crashes trying to open ML DNGs (maybe all, just don't have anything else to try). This is old footage that worked in earlier versions too. All of it was generated with mlvdump.

I fixed my problem by explicitly setting the GPU processing mode to CUDA instead of Auto.

I tried both CUDA on and on auto, it is still crashing.

So you didn't get the same problem in v.12.5. Is it possible to import these footages to v 12.5 save and then continue the work on v 14 and take advantage of its new features?  :D

I don't think so. One of the things I was trying to open was a project I believe I originally put together under 12.5. I think mine was crashing whenever it handed the DNG off to the GPU for processing which it still needed to do. If yours is a similar problem and non-DNG footage works you might be able to render out to prores or something in 12.5 and then grade/edit in 14.

Hmm that's a good temporary step.

Is the problem that the graphics card in question is not supported yet in v 14?
