PicoC? It should be TCC which needs some work to get implemented correctly. PicoC needs to be ported to TCC. It's on the To-Do-List. For more info and a proof of concept have a look here:

http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=4877.msg106873#msg106873

As you didn't gave much infos about what exactly you wanna achieve with your script/module it may be also useful for other devices. Implementing your idea with TCC would be very welcome otherwise try as a module by comparing how other modules have been realized in source code.

Hey GeramyL,

I prepared weeks ago some stuff for 100D in QEMU. Have a look here:
https://bitbucket.org/nikfreak/magic-lantern/src/6dcf49fc0f401247c686945616a8f9ff0e8353fc/platform/unmaintained/100D.100/?at=qemu

If stubs are commented with fnd it means found (didn't exist before, so newly found)
If stubs are commented with vfd it means verified (they existed before and I verified them)

Don't need to reinvent the wheel. Big problem is the boot / gui hijacking. Sursprisingly 100D doesn't seem to use the hijacking method of 70D / 6D. I may be wrong about that find but this is where you can try to help.

Regarding the stubs you found: they look wrong to me. I do 95% of my stub identifying process with ARMu. Rest see above -> fnd / vfd

I made my 70D repository available for public on bitbucket.
Remember: This is for QEMU and boots up in QEMU but the device tree (70D) should be fine to be used (copy & paste) with unified when you adjust the makefile. Sent a request for an installer fir weeks ago to a1ex but didn't get one.

I won't be held responsible for what you guys do with this. I doubt that some of you writing me PMs know what they do cause I got some strange questions but anyways I am just sharing what I did upon requests. I still recommend y'all to wait for nanomad but wish you luck with this if you still try it out. I cannot blindly do it. Btw in the meantime I had to sell my 6D so I am gone for now until Santa Claus puts a new cam under my tree.

Nothing new besides that all is running fine in qemu. Waiting for nanomad to return. I would do the job but i have no options to buy a 70d atm.

maybe you mised it but we already succeeded in acquiring the dump. So don't waste your time with that unless you want to start developing on your own.

You found out both values (wide / tele). So why not enter them manually in canon original cfn menu?

General Help Q&A / Re: 600d - Not turning on?!
October 28, 2014, 11:27:13 PM
any led lights blinking or completely nothing working? Can you check battery and sdcard doors plz. They might be loose. try pressing on them and retry to turn your cam on. It might be worth to leave a full charged batetry for some hour sin your cam. Last option would be to check if this model has a CR2XXX battery and replace that.

You should consider running the prebuilt vm offered in 1st link. If you wanna set up your own build machine you'll need some patience but the summon-arm script should give you an insight of all the necessary stuuf used to build ML from source.

downgrading via sd card must work. Try another card
#1036
Just some patience plz. I started working on it but this takes time due to lots of missing or faulty stuff.
I will come back to you once I booted this up on QEMU. Afterwards we can decide how to continue.
#1037
Yes this time it's fine.
will keep you updated on my progress.
#1038
It exactly looks like ROM1 with a size ~ 16MB. Useful for finding stubs etc. But for QEMU I would need ROM0 +1. You said you used nanomad's dumper to create this NULL file. Tried a1ex's link, too?
#1039
Use option "Format card" in canon Menu. There you can switch with Q button to format card and keep / uninstall magic lantern. or just use another card.

makes no sense to me. There's an Axiom forum available at their site:

https://www.apertus.org/forum/

Why create one here? probably linking to it just like linking to bitbucket is the way to go.

General Help Q&A / Re: 6d fw 1.1.4
October 18, 2014, 10:00:37 AM
I was thinking about it. But the fact that some 3rd party batteries won't be supported and the fact that a new firmware might arrive stopped me. If one new fw with some additions comes out then I will do the job
#1042
But you tried "dumper-100D-qemu.fir" right?
#1043
Ok 100D owners. Please follow the instructions linked above. Once you succeeded get in contact with me by PM.

Quote
Usage: run firmware update, then go to play mode (make sure you have an image there), then look on your card. Keep the dump for yourself, do not publish it online.
#1044
Any dumper fir available for 100D? I will let this boot up in QEMU, too

Wow!

Are you telling me NikFreak and got this working in Qemu in a matter of days! This is outstanding and I for one am incredibly grateful for this work. €1500 euro went to the dev, and from what I can tell no work completed or present to the backers, you have amazed me in what you have displayed for free in a matter of days? Truly fantastic!

Let's say it was 2 weeks - not days. And btw the dev you are mentioning deserves all credits. Maybe as a backer you didn't see what he did. He did a fantastic job - I know this cause I've picked up his work. I just added 10% to his work. So plz let's stop such discussions.

I can not wait for this to be available. If there is any thing I can do to help, please let me know. If anyone else can help, test, code, bug test, troubleshoot add features etc let's all assist nikfreak and make this a reality for the 70D!
It really would completely change the way I use this hardware. We could all probably benefit in some way from it :)

Really, I would prefer to wait for nanomad to return and finish it. Actually QEMU isn't real hardware and I don't wanna risk to be flamed for bricked devices. On the other side, if a1ex agrees to provide a fir for installation then the risky ones of you could try it out.  8)

Last but not least: it boots up in QEMU now (in my virtualbox) but still showing lots of some errors but it boots  8). Don't flood me now with PMs plz. I can't say for sure that this will work immediately on a 70D. For now it only does in QEMU.
I am planning to work on this in my spare time. This was a nice adventurous journey for me in regards of learning QEMU and learning how ML code parts are related to each other.

Looks much better now. Had some headaches last days with one problem keeping me stucked in QEMU and btw I had some ppl writing me and wanting to help who later tried out some stuff on their own cams. Don't do this on your cam. I do everything on my local machine and need to push updates to bitbucket. You might brick your cam if you try experimental stuff on your cam

The answer is: better wait until it gets merged in officially. Afterwards all nightlies will have it.
The alternative would be to fork the repositories and merge 'em yourself. But that's another story.
