QuoteIs any one getting continuous 720p mlv? If so what card/ setting are you using?
I'm only getting exactly 1:50 seconds of footage with a san disk extreme 80mb/s uhs-1 class 10 32gb card. Is there any way to get 720p continuous mlv? Would a 90mb/s card help or am i already over killing it because of the controller speed limit?

The controller is the limiting factor, a faster card will not help.  Sorry

Hey guys,
just for info, the link to daily builds for 650D was changed, so you find it from now here or just take a look to my signature.
BTW: There are no changes in source, so no updates. I think the devs doing a little pause  :P

Satriani, how do they differ from the alpha builds on the ML site?

cool! looking forward

I would like to test and use this module. I only have a 650D, and I see that it is not supported. Is there a specific reason ( hardware limitations) for this?

Thanx

Feature Requests / Re: Optional Image Encryption

This may be a big thing for a lot of people. I myself do some ubex, and hiding some foto's may be usefull.  However this would be a killer option for e.g. journalists etc. I attempted a test, however, as stated it does not work a 650D.

I will keep up to date  on this tread and test a version if it is available for my camera.

I love the idea, however if the files are present, but not readable there is no plausible deniability. Something like saving in a true chript file would solve this issue.

Im using Nightly build magiclantern-v2.3.NEXT.2013Dec25.650D104

got few questions:

1. How to change clock time?

2. Elapsed time not showing? (No matter which Time Indicator type i choose...its not showing)

3. The camera gets hot pretty fast....is it normal?

anyway...i love the LCD sensor shortcuts...its awesome!

thanks ML team

1. just use the normal canon menu

2. is the overlay showing  at all?

3. how hot is hot? it should not get very hot! Does it also get hot without ML

As canon already implemented Some audio features, inwould say that is verry low priority. Aldo you are always Welkom to implement something yourself.

It would oldo be nice if you can be more specific as to what is missing now

Many thanks, blade!  I will assume that the latest is at least as stable as the first alpha version....thanks to everyone for all your contributions to ML for the 650D!

Robert

In my experience all ML versions are stable, however, it is a development snapshot, so bugs may be present. You can always go back to a previous version!

I have been following this thread and it's previous one for months...so I am embarrassed to ask how I find the latest stable version of the Alpha?  I have been enjoying the original version that I originally downloaded from Page 1 of the thread... but assume there is probably a better, more stable version that I could use instead of the August files.  If so, the link would be appreciated!

Scroll down to the orange button "browse nighly builds"

From drop down select 650d.104

Green download button..  e presto!

One of my first shots with dual iso...  The shadows were moving, so long exposure was not an option. Dual-iso worked verry well.

Just used it, and it worked very well.

Thanks!

No .RAW,
no after effects,
No levels or color balancing
no nothing...

Just EOS 650D ...  2 clips into final cut, synchronized and cut...  exported..  done...   :D

How stable is Dual ISO for 650D atm?
And what about frying the sensor as mentioned by a1ex?  I mean if it works on one 650D it will work on all 650D or is there a little possibility that it wont work on some 650D?

It works well on my 650, and i do not see any reason why it should not work on an other 650. Then again, this is alpha software, i you are not comfortable running bleeding edge code...  then wait for the beta... or final.

Ok.  Just a bit more.  I did remove the ML folder from the SD card.  When I extracted the files there was an Autoexec.bin that wanted to be replaced.  I assume the answer is yes.  And probably delete everything in the root except for the two Canon folders - DCIM and MISC? The files in the root are a couple of PDF files and a STUBTEST.log, VRAM*.422 & VRAM*.BMP. With the huge warnings I am a chicken! Never had a problem but don't want to start now!  Appreciate your patience! And thank you for you work.
replace the autoexec.bin,

The other files can be removed...

And do I delete the 650D10~1.FIR from the root of the card?
Correct

Hello All.

Been out of touch since I had shoulder surgery and been unable to use my T4i.  Wanted to catch up and get back to checking out ML Alpha.  I currently have the Aug 3rd version working and think I understand what I need to do. Download the latest Alpha.  I have 10/18. And then unzip it to the SD card and overwrite any old files.  Then delete the .FIR file in the root of the card.  There are other files from the earlier version still on the card like VRAM*.422, VRAM*.BMP.

Just wanted to make sure I haven't missed anything since I last visited the forum.

Just remove your ml folder from the sd card, and place the new versions on the card... and you are done

Tip: create a new folder before shooting brackets. I prefer it to prefix which screws up the file sorting anyway.

Thanks for the tip. I will give it a go.

I usually let LR  import my files, and i cant discriminate between folders. I could remove the files manually, of course.  As a midway option would it be possible to specify that advanced bracketing files should go to a specific folder.

That would eliminate the extra step in selecting the folder, turn on AVB and shoot a HDR, turn of AVB,  then select the former folder and shoot a normal shot.  You could just turn AVB on and off.

I would sill prefer the prefix, aldo it will screw up the sorting to some degree. As a sort my files in  year / month / day folders, I will have limited sorting issues with a prefix.

If the prefix could support its own numbering that would be awesome.. eg

AB1_2511.CRW
AB1_2512.CRW
AB1_2513.CRW

AB2_2514.CRW
AB2_2515.CRW
AB2_2516.CRW

AB3_2517.CRW
AB3_2518.CRW
AB3_2519.CRW
AB3_2520.CRW
AB3_2521.CRW

edit-- typo

I love the Advanced bracketing,

I do sometimes get some strange results from the autodetect function. I would get 5 out of 7  photo's that are ok, and then 2 with the same exposure. However i cant reproduce it.

One thing that i would love is the implementation of a file prefix like in dual iso... that would help my workflow.

Oh my God :-X I have made a video in HDR (not more than 2 min). After that , I just click in HDR WORKLFLOW FILE "main" Virtual Dub need 1 Hour and now at the End of Virtual Dub ,he need more than 1 hour  to Filter or convert the images to C....is that a Joke????

It made me laugh....

If you think you can improve on the workflow you used, feel free to contribute.

but what if we could apply this to a high-end lens, would this make a better super sharp lens???

As this is way out of my expertise, I cant say that that is true, however they present some shots with a normal lens :
Standard camera lens at f/4.5 (Canon Zoom EF 28-105 Macro)

Hover above the picture to toggle the effect on and off...  It looks great.

http://www.cs.ubc.ca/labs/imager/tr/2013/SimpleLensImaging/standard_lens_and_multispectral_results.html

However, it does seem to take some CPU power, so in camera seems to be a no go. However it may be combined with other post stuff like dual iso. (again I am out of my league to claim such a possibility as a real world option)

Just watched it on my iPhone. No problem.

Looks very nice btw
