There is a preview option in the submenu of raw video.
It's probably set to preview or auto, if you set it to liveview, you should see normal liveview as you're used to.

And with 720p, do you mean you have your camera set to 720p 50/60 fps in Canon menu ?
If so, you will get a raw recording that has to be vertical stretched by about 1.67 factor. (Canon is skipping some vertical lines to get to 50/60fps)

If you don't mind having 25/30fps, you're better of with normal 1080p mode in Canon menu. In this setting you don't need to stretch the footage by a factor of 1.67

Thank you that worked!

So now I have video set to ON, 1824x776, 2:35:1 and 12-bit lossless.

Are these the best settings I can get with the 6D for RAW continuous?
thank you

When I try this experimental version set to 720p and 12 bit lossless, the LCD screen is super laggy :(

I see you're using the nightly build, you might want to check out the croprec4kbuild for 6d, it's on the dowloadpage -> experiments.
https://builds.magiclantern.fm/jenkins/job/crop_rec_4k/80/artifact/platform/6D.116/magiclantern-crop_rec_4k.2018Jul22.6D116.zip
(Spoiler, there is no 4k on the 6d, there is only 4k on the 5d3  ;D )
But This build has the lossless raw recording option and even lower bit depth lossless raw recording. I think lossless options are missing in the build you're using ?
Lossless improves recprding times a lot.
The experimental build has a module mlv_lite (you don't need mlv_rec module)
This mlv_lite module has lossless raw recording in 14 and 12 bit depth, or even lower.
Lossless recording in 12 bit is on most normal sd cards continuous on 6d.
Great thank you!!

Thanks! got it working with another card.

Are there good EF mount lenses for video with image stabilization at around 28mm F2.8 ?

Had the small switch on the 6D set to photo

Under ML-Movie Aspect Ratio, only 5:1, 4:1 and 3:1 show in green on the bottom of the LCD, the rest in yellow.
I was able to shoot in 3:1 but that's very thin size.

So I do have another Extreme Pro card. Do I just load ML onto the card and start my 6D without any firmware updating again?

Thank you.
Write was around 23 and Read was over 44. What kind of card do I need? This one is 64GB Sandisk Extreme PRO 95/MB's.

Hi there,
Installed the build found on this page for my 6D running firmware 1.1.6 https://builds.magiclantern.fm/6D-116.html
Can someone let me know what settings to click off so I can record continuous RAW video? Or at least for 1min if possible.
thank you

I think option 1 is the best for u if u need flip out screen . I have used 550D, 650D and now 70D. If u shoot raw with 650D you wil get some annoying pink dots which is removable in post

When it comes to memory card i wil highly recomend you to buy sandisk cards. I have few cards from sandish and sony. Sony cards dont perform well while shooting raw. I bought two 32gb 90mb/s sony cards n three 16gb sandisk 45 mb/s cards few yrs back. And to my experience those sandisk cards perfoms much better while recording raw. Recently bought myself a sandisk 64gb extreme pro. All i can say is wow. It works so gud for recording raw. I even record higher than 720p. Its not continous but i can record for few mins which is not possible with other cards. Other cards can do only for few seconds so go for sandisk extreme pro if you can afford one

I have an 100D/SL1 and can't figure out how to remove the pink dots! How do you remove them?

Hello ML users,

I was about to purchase a used 7D and start using this instead of my 100d/SL1 for ML RAW until I ran into the following issues...

When shooting ML RAW with a 7D I can see the crop marks for the cinescope (2:35.1) view but as soon as I start recording, they disappear so I can't tell where the cut off is to have the black bars top and bottom. I checked all the settings compared to my 100d/SL1 and they seem all the same.

Second issue, when I convert my SL1 files to DNG's, I can drag the first DNG onto the Adobe Premiere timeline and it automatically creates a full video clip, although I get the red focus dots :(. If I do the same with the 7d dngs, it just imports the first dng. I tried them all at once and it imports them all separately in to the project window in Premiere. Not sure why this is happening as it's just a dng just like when using my 100d/SL1.
