Cool, cheers.

Been trying to get error and can't get it again, which is a good thing I guess! If I do get it again and can recreate consistently I'll post back. Thanks again for the help. The assert log files won't affect the card will they either? I noticed I can't just delete them off card. Will probably do a format after I copy all the shots onto ex hd.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for tip. I recreated the error and the assert log reappears but the image quality stayed the same (i.e RAW + jpeg) so must have messed up myself (damnit!). Here is the first assert log I got (see image attached)

And here's the second one with extra 404 warnings for some reason

Weird one. Any suggestions? Thanks again for your time.

p.s Just do a new install you reckon? Would be a bitch if it happened on another shoot. Or just a format?

Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I definitely didn't change the picture quality settings during the shoot so now realize that after an assert log it just takes photos from the video picture quality setting, I assume.

I think a default setting to warn users that they are not taking RAW images is a great idea, especially when ML knows that's what they want from settings enabled.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone had any ideas about some assert log errors I got recently. Was on a photoshoot (normally work with video) and was shooting in RAW and jpeg. All of a sudden loads of lines popped up on screen so i just turned on and off camera. It happened a few times but when I rebooted it everything seemed to be fine. That was until I checked the SD card (after the shoot of course) and found out that after the first error the camera didnt capture any RAW images AND the jpeg size was 1920X1280!! Bad buzz to say the least. Anyway here is the log for anyone interested:

ML ASSERT:
lv
at ../../src/raw.c:1878 (raw_lv_request), task livev_hiprio_task
lv:0 mode:3

Any tips would be much appreciated!

Hey guys,

Have a slightly older build of ML on my 600D and was wondering if the continuous video shooting (ie start new recording when reaching gb limit/over heating) still has one second gap in between files?

I shot a gig with my 600D and 700D for over 30 mins and noticed the 700D has no gap between recordings, which I was amazed by! So just wondering if that has been looked at for 600D?

I say it every time but the work you guys do is phenomenal. Thanks again!

There's no audio monitoring on the 700D. That technique only works for the 600D.

@ A1ex Thanks for link to previous post explaining LCD menu. I had read that one before but checked I had set all the parameters correctly by the post again and noticed that everything was perfect. Then I read the bit about face sensor above viewfinder and figured it out. you have to move your thumb back and over tiny sensor, which I must admit I didn't see, to toggle menu! Thanks again!

@basil Balls! No man can't figure out how to get 1/48th either. The whole thing is really frustrating me now! i guess I'll keep sing my 600D for main camera and use 700D for secondary. i really like the STM lens though with silent, smooth focusing.

Now the menu has started popping up with just the av/tv controls!!

Is that angry but highly intelligent and helpful Walter still around?

From reading all 39 pages of this forum he has been unbelievably patient and helpful with his answers and advice.

I just have one question for him - How I use Magic lantern? ... ;)

Seriously though if anyone kows how to work lcd screen iso/kel and tv/av options I will name my child after thee!

I think I might just have to do a reinstall?

@Axel Thanks very much for your reply and suggestion!

I read your previous post and agree with you completely. I never record audio from the built in mics. I have a rode videopro that does the trick nicely. I am going to purchase the Saramonic Smartrig + when I have some spare cash as I think that would be a perfect solution to the poor preamps in my DSLR.

I also found a module that one user kindly made and uploaded that offers an audio sub menu and some controls. I did see the levels on the screen but thought there would be a submenu like on my 600D which is superb.

My main issue now is getting the set button/lcd screen menu to work and stay open. I have set all the right parameters but sometimes the iso/kel menu shows up and sometimes it doesn't. And I have NO idea how to get the secondary part of that menu being the shutter speed and exposure change (av/tv) ....

If you or anyone knows how to set it up right I will be forever in your debt.

I'm going to donate the little that I can now because all ye magic lantern creators and modifiers(?) are doing fantastic work!

Also,

Are there any audio features from ML with the 700D? I had a look and couldn't find any and then saw some guys uploading codes but most were removed.

ML on my 600D had great audio features and I'm surprised the 700D build doesn't.

In conclusion, does anyone know how to use the goddamn LCD sensor to change ISO/Kelvin?!? (and maybe even audio levels..?)

Cheers

Hi guys,

Read the forum for a year or so now and it's full of great info and very helpful people. Thanks for all your suggestions, patience and time.

I just wanted to let people know DONT INSTALL THE CANON 1.1.5 FIRMWARE UPDATE!! It won't with ML even though a few functions weren't working in 1.1.4 so I updated (as they state in the user guide to newest canon firmware) and it doesn't work.

I just wanted to save anyone who was thinking about it some time.
