Aren't Sandisk cards known to be immune to this? maybe this model is too

Yes, even without a card my scroll wheel and the buttons on it are unresponsive. Clearing settings didn't do anything. Maybe I'll try updating the firmware to 2.03? Can I use ML with that version of firmware?
There is an experimental 2.0.3 version, but it's better to stay on 2.0.2.

Say that resetting CANON settings did not help?

Two ideas:

1. Maybe download GCC from the new site: https://developer.arm.com/open-source/gnu-toolchain/gnu-rm/downloads
wget -c https://developer.arm.com/-/media/Files/downloads/gnu-rm/5_4-2016q3/gcc-arm-none-eabi-5_4-2016q3-20160926-$OS.tar.bz2 && \

2. Why GCC 5.4.1 and not the latest (available there) GCC 6.3.1 ? I build with it and have not encountered any issues, but then again I only build for EOS M :)

@cosmo.lv Does MLVFS not cover your use cases?

Mac OS. How do you turn the MLV into DNG's? The referenced "mlv.dump.osx" download does not open on my Mac with  a "there is no app. set to open the document..." I tried MLRawviewer 1.4.3 but it crashes.
MSVFS? http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=13152.0

Had some issues too, indeed, too bad I deleted the logs/dmp by mistake though. :(

Trying to build EOS M (toolchain 6.3.1-q2-2017) commit cffeb48 yields this error:

mlv_rec.c:4183:5: error: implicit declaration of function 'raw_force_aspect_ratio_1to1' [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]
     raw_force_aspect_ratio_1to1();

The *official-experimental build* has this too: https://builds.magiclantern.fm/jenkins/job/crop_rec_4k/42/consoleText

/LE: Fixed https://bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern/pull-requests/851/

Oh right that one, indeed, it replaces mlv_dump, albeit it does not modify anything else IIRC, so yeah results might not be up to date.

Now, any problems running MLVFS (since that's the one that has developers and a future) ?
#12
What part of "this is not developed for years" was unclear? Of course new MLV files would likely not work, since 10/12 bits and other stuff is recent.

I've been away from builds since early 2016. Have there been any big developments that are in either the nightly build or experimental builds that I should look into?
Plenty: https://builds.magiclantern.fm/experiments.html

Two things:
1. Latest version is 1.4.3
2. this app is no longer developed (it's 2 years old), is the current MLVFS not working for you?

Quote from: the associate on July 19, 2017, 04:07:43 PMDo you use the Linux version of MLVFS by any chance?  :  )
I have it compiled (in the past) but I'm not up to date.
I'll update the source and try to note the steps. ;)

Jusy wondering if MLRawViewer can 2x2 chroma-smooth dngs during the conversion process. If so, how does one make it do this?
Any reason you did not switch to MLVFS yet? http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=13152.0;topicseen

Which buttons are missing?

autoexpo.mo appears to be working on the EOSM though I have no idea how to work it.
Looks ok now though, you can change lower limits with left-right and upper values with rotating wheel, strange that (IIRC) this was not possible in the past, albeit the sourcode was not modified since forever.  :-\ ::) :o

But you can't use autoexpo.mo anyway on M/M2 because you don't have (one) more hardware buttons, right?

Really useful. Thanks.

This works nicely indeed.

One glitch that I saw, I enabled DualISO, set recovery ISO, set normal ISO, whatever shoot, later went to MyMenu to toggle it off but I could only see the sub-menu (where you set normal ISO and recovery ISO), so I had to go back to the main menu, turn it off from there and then coming back I had DualISO is MyMenu too.

Not a ML issue but..

How does one treat "Change battery pack" error? (I guess this is the message, I get the localized text)

Had it at 100%, shoot a bit yesterday (still fullbar), forgot to charge it last night, but I put it in the charger in the morning for 15 min, charger led still orange.

I had to go, put it in the camera and went outside.

After more than an hour of walking outside in sunny weather, trying to take a picture I get the surprise messag e with a red empty battery icon AND the ML message of "bad shutdown modules not loaded" (as expected).

This happens without SD card too.

I don't have a collapsible 15-45, just plain 18-55 and 22.

Original Canon battery that came in the box.

/LE: False alarm, got it charged up to green and now it starts fine. Got me scared there for a bit. :)

That's there for a reason: https://bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern/pull-requests/776/disables-crop-mode-hack-when-turning/diff

Oh come on, using a "letter in Linux? :)
