When you say "cinematographer", do you mean someone who works on feature films?

I think we're mostly in the "videographer / filmmaker" category here. It is a forum for a hacked DSLR after all!

Yeah I know was getting desperate. I luckily got to talk to someone earlier so this doesn't matter now.

Just thought it'd be better over PM.

Anyway these are the questions, I'd also need your name and if you have a reel I'd love to have a watch.

•   What was your first paid job as a cinematographer?
•   What did you do to get noticed?
•   What do think has helped you get jobs the most?
•   What experience or qualifications did you have before any professional work in the industry?
•   Is there any equipment you suggest buying?
•   Is there any equipment you suggest becoming familiar with?
•   What is a key skill that is needed to become a cinematographer?
•   How long had you been working before your debut job?
•   What have you learnt from mistakes that you may have made?
•   How do you communicate with the other departments/people on set?
•   How do you collaborate with the director?
•   What do you think is the best way to enter the industry with the aim of becoming a cinematographer?
•   What tips do you have on working freelance?
•   What are the benefits and drawbacks to working in a production company/in house?
•   Do you think doing a Masters in Film at University is worth it?
•   Where do you see the future of cinematography?
•   Looking back to when you first started what advice would you give yourself?

Hi,

I have a university assignment and I desperately need to talk to a working cinematographer. I just have a few questions that I need to ask. If you could drop me a PM i'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks

Hi !
Could you suggest me a good choice for an external monitor working with ML please (hdmi In/Out, 7", focus peaking, 1:1 pixel, histogram...) ?
Thanks !

Not here, not relevant.

Every time when I take a photo I've got "raw error falling back to yuv overlays". Why?

Yes focus peaking will work. No they won't be lost.

I just got the Sandisk Extreme 90MB/s 32gb as I thought it'd be good enough.

Through magic lantern I got 39MB/s for both read and write and on crystle disk mark.

Not sure which is most correct. On 70D so only need 41 write. Should I return and upgrade to extreme pro?

I'd suggest buying vintage lenses. Just do some research and find whats best for you.

I've bought the samyang 14mm and personally I don't find the focal length that useful.

All three work for me!

Was still enabled FYI

Does updating to 112 reset the boot-flag?
#13
I think it's possible to add your own overlays so you could have all variants. There's a folder in ML containing the overlays so you should be able to add them there.

However, I'm not sure I am correct so don't take my word for it.

Hi, guys.
Can you tell me if there's any benefit to upgrading to the new 1.1.2 firmware?
I mean besides fixing the Lens aberration correction issue with those two EF-S lenses described in the release.

Upgrading will mean you are able to run the latest versions of ML.

Only enable the modules that you need to.

If the crash is repeatable it will most likely crash in the same way, causing no further damage. But like teatotal was saying, if its broke its broke. You either never turn the camera on ever again or you do and find out if it is or not.

Hello, I am selling a 500D with ML v2.3 on it, and I want to put it back to default factory settings first, including turning off the boot flag.

I've read the FAQ and Install Guide, and I have some questions about the procedure...

1. Do I need to run the Clear settings menu command first before uninstalling? It says to do before installing, but doesn't say whether to do it before uninstalling.

2. It seems if I want to uninstall ML from the camera (turn off the boot flag again), I need to leave ML on the card and then run the Canon Firmware update from the menu. Does that process *also* format the card to remove ML from the card, or do I need to do that as a next step by doing the Format card -> Remove ML option? The guide isn't 100% clear. If I have to do the Format card option myself, do I do it immediately after running the Canon Firmware update process to remove ML from the camera, or do I reboot (turn off and back on) first?

3. Do I need to use the EOSCard utility at all?

4. How do I know afterwards that the boot flag is turned off correctly, and that the camera is fully back to factory defaults - is there any way to check?

Thank you.

1. It doesn't say anything for uninstalling because you don't need to but would help for getting it back to factory

2. Format it after in camera

3. yes

4. You don't know

Got excited that this could possibly fix my camera but then I remembered I cant open the menu to install the update anyway. :/

Do you notice any other bugs/glitches when the camera is on?
#22
Pretty sure no sales of any kind are allowed on the forums.

but the message are clear.

What you write is really not clear at all. You try to hard to sound important or whatever to get your point across but lack enough English writing skills to do so. Therefore everything you say is a collection of unfinished sentences that make no real sense.

The minimal requirment is that what the 60d does. thats athletic but it is a gate, goal what ever you mean.
Say what you want , and you get what you need.

Either way are you trying to say that there hasn't been a newer version in a while? If so this may be because you have missed the updated versions as you are still using Alpha 6 according to your signature.
