QuoteDefinitely the place deserves a better effort, and the quality of 5D III + ML should allow that
Thanks for the reply
We look forward to seeing your video tests

QuoteThanks hjfilmspeed

I followed your video with the exact settings but encountered 2 errors described below. I also then tried Full-resolution LiveView: 5796x3870 at 7.4 fps and got the same errors. The attached images are the settings for "full-resolution LiveView: 5796x3870 at 7.4 fps"

MY SUMMARY:
I tried the following :

1) video settings by Jonathan DeNicholas (https://vimeo.com/217313287#comment_15952088) How ro Record 3k on 5dmkIII with Magic Lantern
2) Full-resolution LiveView: 5796x3870 at 7.4 fps (128ms rolling shutter) - continuous*) at 5 FPS! - seeting at  14-bit lossless compression mode (LJ92), preview set to Frozen LV (previously known as Hacked Preview)

For both scenarios above the movie recorded and I extracted the DNGS using MLV convertor but could not open the DNGS in Photoshop CC 2017.
-The error was "Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file." , see   attachments
- In bridge I can see each DNG file has many dots of different colors. ." ,  attachments

Try to turn off fps override, i've never used it when i shoot in full resolution

QuoteThis idea is actually useful for House Realty Marketing. No moving subjects. Just nice slow pace of gimbal work in 7.5p plus twixtor in post should be doable.

Thanks for sharing @baccinoluigi and care to share which setting were applied within the Twixtor plugin in AE?

I used default setting for twixtor
changing time speed in 33,333% and frame interpolation set to : Motion Weighted blend
Gpu rendering: ON

Quote@walter schultz: Ok. I kind of get what you're saying. What I don't understand then is how does this plugin help? Again, I don't understand most of this, it seems like if it's shot at 7.5 fps, then there would be "information" missing keeping one from making "real time" equivalent footage (for lack of a more accurate way of speaking).

One other thing @baccinoluigi (or whomever, I suppose, so long as someone can explain this to me):
I've noticed in a lot of raw 4k/3k/etc. footage on youtube from ML that a lot of moire persists, yet I don't see that in your footage. Neither is yours the first which I have noticed a relative lack of moire, so I'm wondering if there is an element of your post process that is different, or if you (or in general) different settings on the camera can prevent this. Thanks.

If you shot at 7,5 fps and you put the shot on a timeline for every software the minimum you can get it's a timeline at 24 fps so the shot it's about 3 times faster.
So with twixtor you slow down the time at about 33,333% to get right time

Quotei did. still no luck. its 3520.
Im not concerned or obsessed with 3584 at all. there is not much difference between 3584 and 3520! im just wondering why people talk about 3584 while there is no such thing shown in my menu.

ML -->Movie -->Raw Video -->Resolution  when you're in resolution without open menu scoll the wheel on top or move the joystick left and right you should increment or decrement vertical resolution of 16 pixel each time you move it

Try this build
https://bitbucket.org/daniel_fort/magic-lantern/downloads/magiclantern-raw_video_10bit_12bit_crop_rec.2016Dec24.5D3113.zip
or
https://bitbucket.org/daniel_fort/magic-lantern/downloads/magiclantern-raw_video_10bit_12bit.2016Dec20.5D3123.zip
But  if you  want to change resolution when you are in the menu with 3520x 1320
use the wheel on top of the camera for increase or decrease resolution
#15
QuoteIt only shows "3520 x 1320" on my 5d3. how do you get "3584 x 1320" option?
When you are in the option menu with 3520 just scroll the wheel

QuoteProblem with this shooting scenario : You can't get the liveview with correct framing once you hit record. It will show corrupt noisy glitches frames. And can't playback too.

With this build you can playback 10-12 bit video : https://bitbucket.org/Dannephoto/cr2hdr/downloads
better use it only for raw video not  raw video (mlv) is more stable
#17
@Danne
Tested on my 5dMkIII 10 and 12 bit
it works great
Thanks

@a1ex
QuoteIs the issue specific to a particular build, or all of them are buggy?

The issue it's just in the build downloaded here : https://bitbucket.org/Dannephoto/cr2hdr/downloads
whith raw_twk.mo for 5dMkIII
#19
@Danne

Tested again but mlv_rec and mlv_lite have the same issue

14 bit is more stable

Will check later. Most greatful.
If anybody wants to try here are builds for 5D mark III and eos m with latest stuff. Raw_twk.mo included.
Briefly tested. If anything breaks you get to keep all pieces.

Hi i tested the last build on 5d Mark III sometimes it work correctly
but often the video is completely black
i send you a dng : https://www.dropbox.com/s/odn6xxrubhup6hz/M28-1717_000000.dng?dl=0

QuoteGreat video!!! Thanks for sharing! Love the place and the takes. Yo can go all the way with colors without any remorse. Believe me, RAW have great color latitudes without going all saturated. I think that you can render using h.264 without any notice in loss details, just go with a high bit rate, like 20,000+. Please use tripode next time!!!

I will
#22
Quote@baccinoluigi, are you saying that you got liveview during recording ?
I've tried (on the 6d) the latest raw_rec module from 20 november, and during recording liveview freezes...

I don't know about 6d with 5d Mark III everything works correcly like normal nightly
the only thing is video preview thath at moment is not working
try to see the 12-10 bit Topic from some 6d tester http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5601.400

QuoteI don't see the video, can you add the link? thanks

@teatotalTed, I was keeping camera by hand so sometimes
stabilizaion software cannot fix it at best, anyway Davinci has a good stabilization
without losing detail.
#25
@Levas, yes it works in live view, shooting at 3200 x 1200 at 23 fps you can get continuos video, to see more detail on YouTube I use to upload a prores 422 video it's longer  but it works the video was 29gb in prores 422,  3 days to upload it
