Last year I shot this short film in MLV with my Canon 650D. I natively shot it in 2:35.1 with the resolution close to 1920 [I believe it was 1700~]. I could get a 30 second shot at these settings on the 650D, which was enough for the shots I needed.

Earlier this year, it screened at a Japanese film festival. My first ever short to be screened at a festival.

Thank you Magic Lantern for everything you've done in the last four or so years I've been using it. I'm going to be straying away from Canon DSLR's soon, but I wont forget all the amazing things ML provided me.

That fixed my crashing. I'm still getting pinkdot errors from my 650D, but I'm guessing you havent implemented a fix yet after our email

This is absolutely fantastic. However, is it possible to add the ability to remove the pink dots that are seen in 650D and EOSM files? http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=6658.0

Known as the Sea of Trees, Aokigahara forest is well known for being a popular suicide spot in Japan. Located at the foot of Mt. Fuji, the roped off forest is an eerie - but beautiful - location. Ribbons symbolising where travellers have moved before you, mementos left behind.

Shot in 720p RAW on a 650D.

I love depth of field too, but there's a time and a place for it. Also I understand it's your chosen ratio but, again, time and place; it's off putting to look at because of the overall framing. If you're happy with it then cool.

You say the focus preview has been a godsend, but the videos seem to lose focus very easily because of you keeping the lens wide open. Stop it back a couple and boost the ISO - people prefer a bit of grain to an out of focus shot.

In your latest you have the same focus issues, but also very weird framing. I'm not sure why you've put those black bars on the shot, it just cramps up the frame and squishes the guys head in the left corner.

I've got continuous 720p 23.976 with MLV+Sound with one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Extreme-Class-Memory-SDSDX-128G-X46/dp/B00720TE1M

Do you have small hacks enabled?

What shite cards are you guys using?! I get continuous 720P MLV. Meaning WITH sound. Pink dots means nothing when shooting MLV, because MLV mystic does chroma smoothing whilst converting to DNGs. Yes, annoying there's no headphone output working yet, but there's still audio levels which is better than standard Canon shooting.

'Looks like we can forget ML for 650D.'

Are you mental and also living in a cave? 650D has been constantly improving through dailies and has everything ML has to offer except for audio monitoring - which is a shit, but something that's still being worked on. The 650D gives 720p continuous RAW and MLV with overlays and even over HDMI monitors. There is nothing wrong with it's ML status.

Thank you very much.
One more thing. I noiticed that the output video is basicly a crop of the video i see on the display when i shoot at a lower resolution. How can I make the display video Look like the output video?

Keep pressing the info button until you get to the Magic Lantern view. If you've got Global Draw on, you'll see the crop box showing what your actual file will look like

I understand.
Can I do more than 1280 x 720 with a very fast card ?

No, not on a 650D.

Quote from: AgentJJ on August 14, 2014, 09:15:26 PMWe just shot the entire series of the First Five Years @ 1280x720 24fps and many takes were well over several minutes.  We used the Sandisk Extreme Pros.

Always great to see something fully produced! Did you shoot in RAW with external audio, or MLV with audio?

Thanks dude! I used the Mystic program to chroma smooth and then imported the DNGs into MLRawViewer for conversion to .mov. Seemed to work pretty well, PDR was pretty crappy from my trials with it.

No worries! Also I didnt realise you could put DNG's into MLRawViewer to watch them either, so cheers for that tip!

I thought I would post this in here as it's also similar to the eosm.

What I want to know is has (or is) anyone coming up with a quicker fix for Pink Dot Removal from MLV files??? If we had a program like PDR for RAW but instead did it directly for MLV files it would make the work flow far more manageable and enticing. MLV with the benefit of audio is amazing but the extra steps needed to delete the pink dots is killing me.

Imagine if PDR could be integrated into MLRawViewer somehow... that would be amazing.

MLVMystic is the program you want. Select Chroma Smoothing and export as either DNG's straight away, or into a RAW

Hey guys, has there been any huge improvements for 650D firmware lately? My camera is listing the package on my SD cards as Feb 26th - Anyone got any notes on changes since that compile?
