Generally I have been starting CMD and typing in the following..

C:\MLVFS_x64>mlvfs.exe Z:\ --mlv_dir=H:RAW

and then running microsoft edge and clicking a bookmark that launches http://localhost:8000/

When I created a .BAT that included the command to start explorer or microsoft edge (microsofts new browser) and load http://localhost:8000/ I had all sorts of weird things happen depending on the code I put in the .BAT file. Ex. 1. .BAT file required two clicks to load the launch the browser and thus unmounting the drive. 2. http://localhost:8000/ was a white blank screen and 3. finally windows blocked mlvfs.exe and made the program 0 bytes - turned off windows smartscreen and security features to no avail.

Wondering if anyone knows how to launch MLVFS, and a browser with the http://localhost:8000/ page loaded in one .BAT file? Maybe even launch resolve as well all in one click?

Cheers,
Erik

In order to avoid having to sync the H264 proxies with the RAW 14-bit lossless files in Davinci Resolve to have sound (when using Windows).

Integrated audio recording at 48kHz 16bit or 24bit with MLV Lossless would be a perfect solution for sound!

You're the man!!

When using MLVFS with Resolve editing with 10-bit lossless during final Export Dokany (Dokan Library-1.0.3) is un-mounting on a specific file. Even just moving the file on the timeline will unmount the dokany drive. This happens in every project it seems with different MLVs.

Thank you for any suggestions,

Cheers,
Erik

PS: I have organized all the MLVs in folders of less than 50GB in size.

*******
I think the file must be different in some way. My guess is from the card reaching full capacity during recording and the camera needing restarting.

This method for syncing audio between RAW and H264 was discussed previously and I'm sure many others are wondering when it will be implemented?

Using Dokany wondering if the virtual files on the virtual drive that are exceeding the size of the original drive is a problem that is being resolved by ram shuffling files around or if it's actually totally virtual and the size doesn't matter or mean anything?

@bouncyball @a1ex

When I mount 5d3 lossless 12bit .mlvs in linux they grow to 2x their original size in the mount location which surpasses the drive capacity that the original mlvs reside on. (1.4TB virtual files - 1TB Drive Capacity)

Does this explain the inconsistent stuttering performance problems I'm having in Davinci Resolve timeline playback?

Stuttery inconsistent playback in Resolve with 12bit lossless and Bouncyball's mlvfs mod. Not an issue with non-lossless.

When can a fix and update be expected?

Trying to run MLVFS in Linux CentOS 7 distro. Figured out how to use the Make function to generate the MLVFS file. Now when I enter in the terminal: ./mlvfs H: --mlv_dir=/home/ebaldwinson/Desktop/MLVS

I am getting back a "Fuse: bad mount point"? Changing the mount point to different letters doesn't seem to return anything good. What does it want? What code are other linux users using as a mount point?

MLVFS in Resolve on a Samsung M2 960Pro 1Tb and playback is great as long as the MLV file is SMALL (less than 20GB). As soon as I try to playback a 40GB+ file the playback is about 12FPS but the CPU is not working that hard, only 60-70% and plenty of memory available and not much drive traffic.

Any ideas on how to get MLVFS working great with large MLV files 40GB+??

I'm on Win7 64bit in Resolve 12 and 14 beta.

One workaround is to just record short files but this increases the post work flow because I have to sync up the H264s to get the audio (frame match with opacity and two layers)..

Is this possibly because of limited space on the OS drive?

Using 5D3 4k crop Latest Build (2017-04-29 14:30) doing audio test and have noticed that the ML audio levels are reading very low compared to the internal canon levels that can be found in the canon menu.

Don't see why it would matter but for context I have a sennheiser ME66 plugged into a JuicedLink plugged into a H4N plugged into the 5D3.

I look at the H4N levels (gain set low) and they are hot, I look at the Canon Menu levels (gain set to lowest) and they are hot, I look at the ML levels and they are not hot or even close.

Quick fix possibly?

Using MLVFS on Win7 in Resolve 12.5 free with 5D3 10bit footage and there are vertical Stripes in the MIDS with the fix checked.

Do I just have to live with this or am I missing something?

Davinci Resolve timeline has a sequence of 5D3 H264 proxies that include audio and I'm wondering if there is an easy method for matching up the MLV files with some sort of plugin or resolve function?

Right now I am creating a second layer, bringing down opacity and sliding the mlv over the h264 until the frames match - time consuming.

Thank you,
Erik

Is there a method to importing mlvs into Davinci resolve that is faster than manually clicking each folder and individually adding each video file?

1TB 8 cards of footage... :*(

Latest Update here utilizes unknown inputs: http://clickmonitorddc.bplaced.net/

Command "s 19" is HDMI and "s 20" is Displayport for the Dreamcolor LP2480zx. They can both be assigned hotkeys in the software. I messaged the guy who wrote it and he made the changes - what a guy!

Hoping to..

- Edit in Davinci Resolve latest free version.
- Use a keyboard shortcut (similar to the control-F function in Resolve) to toggle between the Resolve GUI (on the GTX 970) and the video playback output (from a deck-link or similar pci playback card) both on the same Dreamcolor monitor. Essentially, either toggle monitor inputs or the primary GPU from the keyboard in Resolve?

Can this be accomplished?

What pci card will output 1080P 444 10bit via SDI in Resolve? Intensity Pro 4K will output RGB 444 via HDMI apparently.

Still looking for software or hardware to allow toggle between GTX and Intensity Pro, will probably just use a second monitor.. Found this cool software, http://clickmonitorddc.bplaced.net/, unfortunately the HDMI and Displayport inputs don't show up in the software menu and the commands the guy suggests "s 1" through "s 20" etc aren't trigging the HDMI or Displayport inputs. He says this is sometimes the case depending upon the monitor. Also found this HP software that will allow you to select HDMI or Displayport as inputs via mouse click but that is slow, maybe tho this can be hotkeyed?

MCCS-standard says but 1 thru 20 do not set the INPUT as Displayport or HDMI?

Any ideas as to why MLVFS via dokany will just suddenly stop working sometimes (playback monitor freezes) on windows 7 64bit in premiere pro 2015? Drive settings or settings somewhere? GPU, SSD, and CPU are not working very hard at all.

Is 14bit Lossless compatible with the MLVFS workflow? If not will it be soon or is there a workaround?

In the command prompt, what do I need to write besides "M:\> mlv_dump --dng filename.mlv" to batch export all the 14bit lossless mlvs in the M drive to individual folders with vertical stripes removed?

Also, different topic, but is the live view functioning properly with the new 1080P 45P or 48P and how do I setup that up in the camera and choose 45P or 48P after I select it under the crop menu?

Thx!

Who has MLVFS flying in Premiere Pro and has great performance in timeline and playback?

What GPU and SSD HDD Raid 0 setup are you using?

I'm on windows 7 64bit using Premiere Pro CC 2015.

My Windows workflow 5D3 MLV 14bit has been..

1. Offload the mlv files from the cards to a backup drive.
2. Use MlRawViewer to pick and choose, sometimes adjust temp and exposure while simultaneously exporting to pro-res on my SSD drive.
3. Edit in premiere pro cc using pro-res files to create a final edit. Deliver final edit as well as pro-res files to the client.

I see that MlRawViewer is not compatible with 10bit and 12bit mlv, the program crashes immediately..

I'm hoping to use 10bit raw to save space and reduce time - but is there a workaround or an alternative program that is easy and respects this workflow allowing me to deliver the original footage, preferably in the form of pro-res, to the client? I really like MlRawViewer's interface and quick conversion to pro-res.

I don't want to edit with .dngs. Please help!

Is anyone going to fix crop mode's live view?

If we could record 2k with a live-view that maintains a reasonable frame rate with a latency that is acceptable (perhaps sacrificing colour/resolution entirely) thus allowing objects to be tracked on a tripod or steadicam in proper framing I think this would be impressively significant.

In my opinion, following that the only other thing left on the table would be recording 1080p or damn close at 48p unsquashed. 38P in 1080p looks better than 60p squashed in 720P mode. Can someone squeeze another 10 frames out?

https://vimeo.com/162333247

Is there potential for someone to make these two things a reality?

Sincerely,
Erik
