It's been a while since I came back on the forum to post something but I switched from 5DIII ML RAW to Lumix S1H.

But like many I'm still strongly on the 5DIII RAW which with the years is still wonderful to use, I recently started guitar making, and of course why not use my good old 5DIII with ML to do a little teasing of a futur guitar build.

a little edit greatly inspired by the universe of Akira and its soundtrack (Japanese manga/anime from the 80's that I particularly like) to show the loneliness one can feel in Tokyo despite the fact that this city is very populated.

I used my old rushes from my trip to Japan in 2018

I just finished my edit about my 2 week travel in Japan (march 2018)

All clip was recorded in 1920x1080 29 fps 14bits lossless, i get some pinkframe on 2 clips, but i think it was because i used the magic zoom (there are some liveview tools who cause this issue).

Graded in DR14 + Film Convert in PP

Lot of clips are recorded hand-held and stabilised on DR14, so there are some bad artifacts..

J'ai eu l'idée de lancer ce groupe dans le but de rassembler la communauté Française s'intéressant de près ou de loin magic lantern. Je vois beaucoup d'utilisateurs francais débutants un peu perdu ou mal informés par rapport aux options, l'utilisation générale.

Donc je me dis que la création de ce groupe pourrait être la solution pour pas mal de réponses.

Extract with MLVFS and working/graded with Resolve 12.5.

=> Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 only

Graded in Resolve 12.5 with the Free Ektar 100 LUT

No one corrupted frame or any issues for a total of 300GB RAW.

I am building FR version of Magic Lantern (Unified only), i don't know when i will totally finish it but i was wondering if it could be possible to webmasters, to create a multilanguage section into the Download page if others translaters from others country wish add their version on.

Do you think this might be a good idea or do you just want to keep the ML native language on the site?

Pour voir les numéros de version, il suffit simplement de regarder la date dans les .zip (ex : 2017Jan23) ou bien vous rendre directement ici.

Ces versions sont basées sur l'Unified originale, plus tard suivront les versions 10bits/12bits et crop_rec, pour les boitiers compatibles.

Rappel :

• Pour installer ML, placez le contenu du .zip à la racine de votre carte mémoire et installez Magic Lantern via le menu Canon dans la partie MAJ Firmware.
• Evitez de charger trop de modules en même temps (max 6 7) car sinon la mémoire dédiée à ML a tendance à saturer.
• Sur certains boitiers il est conseillé d'attendre que la diode témoin de la carte s'allume une petite fois quand on vient d'éteindre le boitiers avant de retirer la carte mémoire .
• Pour désinstaller ML, il ne suffit pas de formater sa carte mémoire via ordinateur ou boitier, il faut bien penser à formater la carte mémoire tout en ayant pris soin de cocher la case "supprimer ML" dans la partie formater du menu Canon.

Procédure en cas de plantage :

Si il vous arrive un plantage de ML et qu'à la suite de ça votre boitier ne répond plus, même après avoir éteint/allumé, suivez cet ordre :

• Eteignez l'appareil
• Retirez la batterie
• Retirez la carte
• Retirez objectif
• Remettez objectif + batterie mais sans la carte et allumez

Si ça ne marche toujours pas, essayez la même procédure mais avec une autre ou la même batterie mais chargée à 100%.

Ce message reprend ce qui a été dit à partir du message que j'ai deja posté sur le forum FR de la partie video eos-numerique.com mais pour les Français du forum ML je donne l'info ici.

J'ai deja commencé on va dire, 20% de la traduction du firmware alternatif Magic Lantern.

Pour le moment donc je m'occupe seulement de la version "Unified", pas d'Alpha avec le 3x crop_rec, pas de 10 12bits, je verrais plus tard, il faut faire les choses dans l'ordre pour avant tout maximiser la compatibilité avec tout les boitiers.

Il est impossible de mettre des "é" ou "à" ou autres caractères spéciaux dans le code quand je traduis, car le langage de programmation utilise de l'UTF8 par défaut (je sais pas si ça peut se modifier mais je préfère pas essayer pour des soucis de stabilité), donc ne soyez pas surpris.

Je me sert à la fois d'un traducteur auto et mes connaissances en anglais pour traduire, si vous pouviez approfondir de manière courte et claire toute traduction hasardeuse de ma part en m'indiquant le fichier à modifier et quelle ligne le code la traduction se trouve, ça sera beaucoup plus simple pour moi.

ps: I has a question about verical stripe, it's more visible in the sky even if i shot in ETTR (it is not visible at first glance but there's some traces when i force too much on the contrasts in Resolve) . I use neat video for fix it when it's too visible, but you know any best solutions for prevent this issue ?

Well, as you can see, in 4K view, pixels are not too damaged by the sampling, I think because in 3x crop mod, it's the true 1080p resolution from the middle of the sensor, but maybe i'm wrong ?

I only upscale in export with Resolve 12.5.
This could be interesting for my futurs productions, if clients insist for 4K.

Color grading : Davinci Resolve 12.5 (using Color management setting)

Edited on Premiere with Filmconverter Pro + Twixtor at 45% speed.

Hello !

I did a new test only with the 3x crop mode.
Im really surprised to see how the quality of DNG in 3x crop are better than standard 1080p RAW.
I dont saw any vertical stripes too.

I really hope it will be possible in the future to record in 3x crop with a more fast ML grayscale monitoring.

Principals shots are made with Sigma 10-20 mm EFs

Hello everyone !

I come back from my stay in Spain, I spent five days with the 5D mark II and finally summarize it in 5 minutes.

The video was taken in RAW MLV with magic lantern, all calibrated to resolve with Cinelog-C and then koji color, assembly on Vegas pro.
Obviously I was not with me stabilizer, video shakes sometime, the stabilizer mode DaVinci can not work miracles too.

Hello again,

I get a new issue on Resolve.

1) I did a mapping of my sensor of my 5D mk II because i get a dead pixel.

2) After tryed the crop mod with ML and extract my DNG with raw2cdng v1.6.5, i didnt saw any dead  pixels in my extracted DNG with the windows image gallery viewer.

3) But when i importe the DNG sequence in Resolve the dead pixel appears

Do you have any solutions ? or tips to apply in Resolve for fix it ?

Hello all,

I get an issue after extracting MLV to DNG with raw2dng v1.7. I dont get this problem when i record in RAW.

To be precise

I have 2 clips to choose in the media section, i don't understand why because the content of my folder shows me the DNG continuous

And i want only 1 clip to choose.
