Hi,
I was testing Build 16/09 1.1.3 4k RAW and I got lot of bad frames, magenta frames, etc. I supposed was resolution or bits and I know is experimental.

So, I rec h264 without raw and crop activated and I get glitches again.

- I put out SD card with ML, and let only CF card.
- test with other lens.
- put out batery.
- rec a couple of standard videos in h264 - without ML card inside- 1/50 and I got again some weird pixels that you can see when you watch something weird and make pause and rewind a couple of frames.

Can you check if I have to send the camera to service , or maybe I should upgrade firmware, make other kind of test, or I don´t know. I´m worry about the life of the sensor. Maybe I am wrong.

It´s my first problem with 5d. Never other or service, or bad pixels or bricks.

My question was response for 14 bits long time ago.

- Apple ProRes 4444 XQ: supports up to 12 bits per image channel and up to 16 bits for the alpha channel.  4:4:4 sources. 500 Mbps (29,97 fps)

- For 12 Bits, the best appear to be the same codec and 4444 (no XQ).

- For 10 Bits, Apple ProRes 422 HQ, This codec supports full-width, 4:2:2 video sources at 10-bit pixel depths at 220 MB/s BUT
Apple ProRes 422, is nearly the same as before with 66% of data rate, 147 MB/s at 29,97 (less in 25P).

Someone knows if Prores 422 it's enough or not ? I'm confuse with 422, or 444 RAW footage from Canon ML. I suppose using more than we need, is more space  to manage without gain anything.

I think it's a good idea support a 5d Mark IV for research. This could be positive for future buyers. We can get better information, posibilities about ML into the camera. Or maybe wait for a 5D mark V

We are a lot of users. With an account, we can provide some bucks for our 4K future.

ML has been giving a lot of benefits. It's time to go further.

Ideas?

Well, I think this is the place to ask this: for example, shoot with a 5D III and a 7D, and get similar (not the same of course) image in h264?

For example, I will try same setting as presets, with the same values. Same WB in Kelvin. Same aperture and brand lens. But, what about ISO and other values?

My question is: Exist a mathematical relation (Iso, EV, Gain, Etc) to reduce the risk to shoot with diffrent Canon cameras, one full frame and other not full frame?

I think prevent this before wait a magical solution in post could be very usefull.

I shoot this full lenght movie (82 Min) completely in ML RAW. The raw footage it's aroung 4 TB. The color was made with Davinci Resolve 12 Lite. And I use a hackintosh (i7 Haswell, AMD 290X by Rampage Dev).

I didn't use any aditional light during the shoots. I worked around 5 months in production and 3 in post production.

The lenses I used was a set of Rokinon 24, 35 and 85 mm T1.5

As you know, Mac Users, DISK Utility has change.
EXFAT format now has more option and my question is wich one it's the best to use.
I tried a couple and when I re insert the card in the Mac, ooops, say: Not format.

So, wich one is the correct setting for format the card for RAW recording under OSX EL CAPITAN?

Hi, is still recommended use 1.1.3 just for RAW video instead of 1.2.3 with clean HDMI?

Firmware 1.2.3 is required if need one of those features from Canon:
clean HDMI out
dual monitor support
AF at f/8 with teleconverters

I want to propose an ML tool before change a prime lense when you are filming. The idea is when you have mount a 24 mm lens, press a button or command to simulate the part of the imagen you could take if you put a 35, 50, 85 or 135 mm lens.

I don't have any skill to code. But I think with the degrees advertised for the lens manufactures, it's posible to set the most used sizes.

The advantage for this in my opinion are:

-Less time to calculate which lens it's better.
- Less time changing lenses - better lifetime of metal mounting.
- More accurate idea of which lens to use.
- Less dust into the sensor and lenses.
- Usefull for video and photo, H264 and RAW users.

The first question we can do about this is when you have a long mm lenses mounted. Well, you have less values to simulate
And if you have a zoom, ok, zoom in

Lot of time here, enjoying ML and the new builds. But... I feel a little  lost pressing " New Replies to your post" or " Show unread posts since...".
I think sometimes you don't post anything - and I post to get only the " New replies" notification. And I only need to follow the work.
Or I have found old responses form other users or I give a help and the user never come back...

So

I propose to add a button " Follow this topic/unfollow" that notify by email when it's active.
(I think this form can support this)

SO, we have an entire software for edit from DNG to the final work!

I was reading differents topics - not oficial, only commentaries - because GH4, BMC, Nikon and very cheap cameras are introducing 4K-2K and Pro Res and DNGs to their cameras. And some people say that 5D Mark III are ready to support more resolution than full hd.

I think this is the best place to know if this could be true in the future or not.

Of course, we are talking about less bit, or only h264, maybe others.

In my case, that could be great and the best turn from Canon.

I tried get some shot for test with .MLV and with the Sound Module on 5D3

I have my file.

I have my mac.

I tried Raw2DNG and the file it's not recognised.

Wich it's the software for OSX to get .DNG and sound?

ML can develop get View finder - for the cameraman - and external monitor working at same time?

This is very important! If you work on this You know what I am talking about!

Sorry, It´s a Joke. But I check hudson everyday and I am not see him posting new commands

As you know, WB, FStop, Presets and ISO is not working in RAW. But when you do a shoot, you are thinking in all this things and watching you screen. The log information about a shoot didit a week ago it´s usefull for calibrate in post something near to magenta.

Maybe, in the future, the software to work with ML RAW could be work as Aperture or lightroom and all you have to calibrate first the ISO and WB and Stops as you shoot. If this information can´t stay at the files, maybe can stay in the logs.

It´s crazy, but put the CF card in the PC and take the SD card again in the PC it´s the double work. PLease! Wav it´s small and necesary!

Can ML RAW BUILD read the shoots by USB?
New notebooks don´t have CF reader.
And take off and put the card in the 5D could be damage the conection - expensibe like broke the USB.
It is possible?

Hi, as everybody know, 5D mark III can capture HDMI by an external recorder (I hope soon capture 2K DNG with ML). Wich brand or recorder model recommends to get HDMI? Thanks!

I need to wathc my shot in the LCD and, in the same time, show the same imsgen in an external monitor. Can i do this with 5d mark iii? Thanks!
