Share Your Photos / Eos M Astrophotography
April 28, 2016, 07:19:32 PM
Hello !

The eos M is a very good apn for astrophotography. Light, good sensor, but without intervalometre...

But with magic lantern (and without the low cut filter... ^^ ) you can do this :

I don't know the english name, but this is Orion, 2h20m, with the CLS filter, 50mm f1.4 at f4.

full here : http://www.webastro.net/upload/images/26132-1456930987.jpg

And

Le coeur & l'âme et le double amas de Persée ! :)

With the CLS, and 1h40m, 105mm f2.8 Sigma @ f4 !

The full pictures are an binnig x2 from the sensor resolution, so the picture size is 4,5 mpx.

It may be a good idea to make it natively with ML ! ;)

General Help Q&A / Intervalometre & bulb eos M
April 28, 2016, 06:45:10 PM
Hello ! I use my eos M to astrophotography, and I'd like to know if it's possible to turn off the screen while using the bulb timer & intervalometre ?

It makes noise on photo (I don't know how to say, look for bruit thermique on google... :D Sorry...).

Is it possible ?

Thanks ! :)

EDIT I found...
But...

With bulb timer, the apn makes a dark (long exposure noise reduction) but this option is not enabled... Why ?

Edit 2 : Ok, I made a second test, I don't know why, the shutter stays close, but not as long as the exposure time...

Thank you !

I'll take back my Star Adventurer, and I'll shoot the moon tonight with it ! :) (And I get a used 70-200 f2.8 L is II... It's very used, but lenses and mechanics are OK ! :) ) I may show the result here ! :)

BTW, Will I ever be able to post only after 900s ? When I posted my two firsts messages, I had an error message that said me to wait...

To remove the IR cut, I used this : https://www.scotttorborg.com/canon-eos-m-teardown

It was the first time I disassemble a APN, and it's still working ! ;)

I don't have time to try MLVProducer, I tried once, and I saw the red dots disapears, so I was happy ! :)

And,  yes, off course, the moon in france is  made of cheese, but, we can't smell it because our fromaaaage smells more ! :D :D :D

How can I find the messages I wrote, I don't see the other post I created, I don't remember where it is... :s

See you !

Hello !

I use my eos M for astrophotography, and I tried to make a video of the moon in crope mode (960x960). It worked but the red dots (I read it was the AF system ?) create artefacts (is it the good word ?) on the picture. Is there a way to remove thoses dots ?

Thank you ! :)

Edit : I use this http://magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=15271.0 to extracts DNG without red dots and it works, I don't need help anymore... ;)

I use it for astrophotography,  (I removed the low cut filter on it) and I have some questions about ML, and the crop video mode !

I am impressed when I see what you can do with ML, and I want to learn more about it !

Sorry about my english, tell me when I make mistakes, I'll be happy to learn ! :)

See you !
