ok, it works great so far :)
the only thing is that I'm not able to get higher resolution than 1920x1080, see here:

the

I have enabled only the crop_rec module and the mlv_lite module.

Any clue why I can't enable a higher res than 1080p?

Thanks so much!

Hi Magic Lantern users,

I'm using a 2 year old ml build.
Everything works perfect, but with the old build I have, it's a little bit annoying that you can't see the right framing when shooting in crop mode - you always see the 5x magnification, but the camera records in 3x magnification...

That's why I'm interested in ths crop_rec experiment build.
I want to shoot in 1080p 25fps 14bit in 3x magnification and see the correct frame (not 5x magnification).
Is this the right build for me?
How do I install over the old magic lantern build?
Do I just need to download the magiclantern-crop_rec_4k.2017Sep06.5D3123.zip and replace it with my old build on the sd card? Then install in the camera?
Sorry for asking, but I'd rather ask before I make something wrong and worst case break my camera :)
hope you can understand!
Thanks so much for your help

Hi Magic Lantern users,
I haven't been updating my ml build for 2 years now..
is there already a way to see the proper and right frame when recording in crop mode?
It sucks that we see the 5x magnification, but actualy its recording in 3x magnification.
Any workaround?

Thanks so much

Thank you :)
I will, we just released it yesterday.

thank you :)
I'm working with after effects. I'm importing the dng files with adobe camera raw and transform it there with the cinelog profile (http://www.cinelogdcp.com/cinelogc-overview/). Once imported as a flat cinelog dng file, I'll start the grading process in after effects.

A few weeks back I travelled to Nepal, India & Sri Lanka. What an amazing adventure! It's really hard to explain what I experienced, but here is a glimpse of what I saw..

I did import the dng files with cinelog (http://www.cinelogdcp.com/cinelogc-overview/) in Adobe camera Raw and graded then with filmconvert and Luts in after effects.
Here is another example I did last year:

thanks, yes the aerial shots were made with the phantom 3. I filmed handheld and stabilized some of the images in post, that's why some have a slight wobble in it :)

Hi there,

My girlfriend and I made a road trip through the beautiful Ireland and I took the 5DmarkIII and a gopro with me.
I shot in ml raw and used cinelog and luts.

enjoy & thanks for your time

I changed my mind :)
I thought it would be difficult to generate dng's and proxys from the mlv format on windows, but I checked "phreekz" raw2cdng converter and this works brilliant :)
Not so sure what the "mlv_rec.tmp" file is which is generated each time on the card while recording. Is it some sort of  temporary cache?
Thanks

Hi Andy,
thanks for your fast reply. Yes it says Canikon when I open the dng files in ACR.
I'm shooting with a 5dmIII and various lenses.
here is one of the dng http://we.tl/Quf6ubmKEF
it's 50fps and has to be stretched by 1.61.
I do have now a solid workflow solution with .raw files, creating proxys etc.
so if anyhow possible I would stick to raw-rec. Can I use your custom profile for future shoots with the same camera(5dmIII), also if iso, aperture etc. changes?
thank you

Hi Guys,
ok so I just purchased cinelog-c, but somehow I can't open the profile in ACR.
I put the "Canon DSLR for Magic Lantern Raw Video" folder (with the dcp profiles in it) into C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles but when I open after effects and import a dng sequence I haven't got the cinelog option in the profile dropdown menu.
I've worked with visionlog and this profile is working well in ACR, but cinelog isn't showing up?!
My ACR Version is 8.1
I'm using dng material shot from the 5dmIII ml raw.

What am I doing wrong?
I've also installed the opencolorIO plugin.

Please help, thanks so much
