@schedonnardus
You don't need to make your SD card bootable via your PC. I just went through this issue for a second SD card for my camera and all you need to do is extract the nightly (or whatever build of ML you want) to the SD card and run the cameras firmware upgrade. The ML install will make the SD card bootable for you.

good to know. Still the eoscard website has all the old firmware. since canon's website only has 1.1.7 on it now, ppl will need access to 1.1.6. I installed 1.1.6 from there and it worked fine.

so i finally joined the modern age and update my 6D from firmware 1.1.3 to 1.1.6 8)  Everything went smoothly, and I'm looking forward to using the most up to date ML!

Thanks to the devs for all you do!

the EOScard website (which you'll need for making your SD cards bootable) has firmware for many different Canon cameras way at the bottom of the page

The disappearing menu is a common bug, i't there to stay and we LOVE it! :D

so what causes this "bug?" I'm still running the March 23 2014 build (i only use ETTR, DualISO, Intervalometer, motion detect, and overlay, so i haven't bothered to upgrade) and the ML menu screen stays on forever.

yeah, the 1.1.4 update was made to prevent you from using 3rd party batteries

I haven't been on here in a few months, been skimming back over this thread. I'm currently running the March 23rd build, it does all that I need it to do (DualISO, Intervalometer, focus stacking, exposure sim, overlay, ETTR) has there been any major changes that would prompt an upgrade, or should I just stick with what works?

Also, I experience the same interlace "issue" with DualISO that is mentioned above. I had just assumed that was how it was supposed to look before you post-processed it cr2hdr.  The lines show up in Lightroom as well, so I thought nothing of it.

General Help Q&A / Re: All I want is basics for 6d
April 04, 2014, 04:18:33 AM
i imagine it will be awhile before there is any kind of "stable" build for the 6d.  I have been using the nightlies (haven't updated in a week though) and have not ran into any problems.

I have been using the ETTR, Dual-ISO, Intervalometer, Exposure Bracketing, and Image Ghosting.  Those features have all worked fine for me.  I cannot attest to all the other features.

for the record, I am using "Digipower " brand batteries, and they work fine, no errors.

This is my first dual-iso image.  Driving home the other day, a really awesome thunderstorm was rolling in. I drove out into the field on the farm to get a wide, clean shot of the impending storm.  I used my 50 f1.8 on my Canon 6D and shot in dual iso 100/800.  It really helped me to get the bright clouds and the dark soil all in one shot.   The final image here is a pano stitched together in CS6.

Thanks for all the amazing work ML!

I dont find the DUAL ISO option.
Do I need to install addicional modules?

My version is: magiclantern-v2.3.NEXT.2013Nov02.6D113

Hey, I'm new to magic lantern, but i noticed that magiclantern-Nightly.2014Mar26.6D113 (which is the first version i've ever run, so I'm REALLY new  8) ) has dual iso in the module menu.  I hope that helps.

1) Formatting my card.

My "normal" way is to put it in the Canon 5D Mark II; press menu and then scroll through to format.

2) Thank you.

So for each card that I want ML on I copy across the files using my card reader and then go through the process again of installing ML. Correct?

if ML is already installed and running on your camera, then you only need the files on any new cards (and to make the cards bootable through the EOScard application

Hey everyone, new 6D owner here!  I just installed ML using the instructions on page 1 of this thread.  I'm pretty noobish at this (but have rooted phones in the past, so this process was pretty straightforward).

My question is: does anyone recommend a specific build to run that's fairly sound? I know that the development is ongoing and nothing is 100%, just trying to get my feet wet.  I'm really more interested with the photo settings for now, though I plan on shooting some video from time to time.

Big thanks to everyone that works on ML!
