Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I came back on the forum to post something but I switched from 5DIII ML RAW to Lumix S1H.

But like many I'm still strongly on the 5DIII RAW which with the years is still wonderful to use, I recently started guitar making, and of course why not use my good old 5DIII with ML to do a little teasing of a futur guitar build.

- 3k 12bits lossless
- Lens : EF 24 - 70mm 2.8
- Graded on Resolve using Koji color lut

A simple solution is to switch to Resolve, right click on the clip then "Clip attributes" then at the bottom you can make your scaling adjustments : 2x 4x.. It's work very well and fast

Dear folks,
Great videos. And especially great colour grading! I would make an little advert for Dannes 5.7k magic lantern build.
Thanks for your feedback

I have indeed seen that Danne has released a new version a short time ago that I have not yet tried (I am now on the panny S1H and I shoot less with the 5DIII RAW but i'm still a great lover of MLRAW)

my footage of 2018 are only made with the old version which allows to shoot in lossless 11/12/14 bits

Hello folks,

a little edit greatly inspired by the universe of Akira and its soundtrack (Japanese manga/anime from the 80's that I particularly like) to show the loneliness one can feel in Tokyo despite the fact that this city is very populated.

I used my old rushes from my trip to Japan in 2018

Very nice grade and cleans shots.

But masks at 0:18 and 0:27 are not clean. We can easly see borders of masks.

I think you could use just simple transitions.

what was your post workflow?

1) Using MLVFS for extract + import DNG in Davinci Resolve 14

2) Setting up my color management for Arri Log C in DR14 projects settings

3) White balance correction for each clips + ML Cinelog-C to Ektar 100 LANDSCAPE LUT +  custom grading

4) Export clip in DNXHD 422 10 bits and import in Premiere pro

5) Use Film Convert + custom correction with Lumetri on effect layer.

@pc_bel

Thanks for you feedback !

Can you tell me which clips look like too burned ? I will try to fix it or replace scenes.

Hello,

I just finished my edit about my 2 week travel in Japan (march 2018)

All clip was recorded in 1920x1080 29 fps 14bits lossless, i get some pinkframe on 2 clips, but i think it was because i used the magic zoom (there are some liveview tools who cause this issue).

Graded in DR14 + Film Convert in PP

Lot of clips are recorded hand-held and stabilised on DR14, so there are some bad artifacts..

Cheers :)

Thanks, hyperlapse was a big question for me.

Ctrl + shift + skip, check mlvfs.exe and stop the program.

Maybe there is best solution than this one.

I'm amazed by your film, grading/plans are perfect. I was hypnotised. The music is well chosen.

Good job.

I also use W10 and i use this version of Dokan and this version of MLVFS without any problems.

Hope this will help you.
#15
What is your operating system + what is your version of Dokan ?

hello can someone give me a hand?
i did everything and the virtual drive is mounted but when i go to
http://localhost:8000
it just says
HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.

Do you have these files, especially html_template.html and jquery-1.12.0.min in your MLVFS folder ?

Hello, un petit rappel pour dire qu'on existe :) on est tout juste 37 membres depuis, si vous voulez causer ML en Français n'hésitez pas !
#18
Amazing work, congratulation for all the team behind this movie.

Bonjour,

Thanks for your answer, but as you can see in my picture :

all my DNG sequence are mixed in a same folder; i see you are using windows 7, maybe this issue is only about windows 10.
#22
I did not know the existence of MLVViewSharp, thanks you reddeercity.

But do you know how extract DNG into separate folders ? All the DNG are exported in the same directory.

Today i was bored at my home, then took my 5D mark III for a walk and did some anothers test (because i love tests) in 3k 12bits lossless

Extract with MLVFS and working/graded with Resolve 12.5.

Thanks for your links hyalinejim ! I will take a look and fav it !

About transitions i used the chung dha's transitions preset for premiere pro.
Smooth zoom transition are free, if you want pan/tilt/diagonal smooth transition its only 5 euro, it's a good deal, you don't lose time to adjust manuely your transitions.
