General Help Q&A / Re: 5D Mark II Double Exposure

Yes! (And it took me a whole DAY to write this reply because the forum kept saying: "You recently posted 90 seconds ago... please wait before posting again.)

Beautiful video. I live in Berlin... we'll have to meet up one of these days. (I'm this guy: http://youtube.com/c/dhienterprises )

I'm probably picking up a 5D Mark II tomorrow (over the Panasonic GX80)... just because I miss Magic Lantern and my DSLRController app so much...

You should make a "Making of" this video...

General Help Q&A / 5D Mark II Double Exposure
November 03, 2016, 04:24:11 AM
Hey! Long time no see...

I'm thinking about picking up a 5D Mark II tomorrow. I'm wondering if ML has a way you can do Double Exposures like you can on the Fuji cameras (i.e. You take one photo... move the camera a little... and take another one and it saves it as one image?)

Anything like that in Magic Lantern's bag of tricks?

(And also... Should I just get a Panasonic GX85 instead? Same price...)

Camera-specific Development / Re: Canon 600D / T3i

Been meaning to get a few words in here... but I'm a longtime PC user/absolute Apple-hater... and it's taken me some time to adjust to this MacBook Pro since my Asus died...

If I don't sell my 600D in favor of an a6000 I'll have some things to report.

Wonderful! This will eventually help when I get MY 5D mk III. :)

Link worked great and I got the software. Thanks.

Going to do some work with my build from last year and the new one I just downloaded from a month or two ago.

I'd also like to maintain this thread. I've been around the forum for almost 3 years now and my 600D is still ticking and still running Magic Lantern. So let's DO THIS THANG!

I thought the first minute was great... then I lost interest.

But really the combination of the cuts and the music were amazing in that first minute.  I think about one minute worth of breaks in between the weird belly-board thing... maybe people sitting on the beach... taking breaks from the water... perhaps even an occasional GIRL somewhere, somehow out on the beach... would've made this the ultimate RAW surf vid.

I definitely think there's a story to be told in here.  I loved the car part.

Well of COURSE you're nominated for a buttload of awards...That was AMAAAAAAAAAZING!

EXCELLENT concept! HILARIOUS! Probably the best thing I've seen posted on this forum.... :)

I like the song... and the video was cool... though there were lighting problems in the stairwell...

Umm... Which camera? And lenses? And... you know... INFORMATION. :)

Wow... This really reminds me of Steve Buscemi playing the role of "Ultimate Badass Mafia Assassin" in "Things to do in Denver When You're Dead."

That opens up SO many possibilities... Like a Super Heavyweight ranked and sanctioned bought between this HUGE guy and some skinny 13 year old kid who you don't see until the camera cut...

I think the introduction of "Woods" is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. It's like seeing David Cross for the first time!

That guy needs to get in touch with P.T. Anderson...

"I'm a private eye now!"

That line... said by absoLUTELY the wrong person! hahahahahahahahha :D

The ones at 00:25 and 01:00 were pretty good.

Didn't really need the music though since none of the editing was timed to the music.

The greatest T2i film ever made... I'm certain of that. :)

Especially impressive is that you managed to accomplish all that with THOSE lenses... including the damned KIT LENS!

That's very... VERY impressive.

So did you use MLV, RAW, or just the regular compressed MOV?

What was your workflow if you used MLV or RAW?
#17
For a T2i that's absolutely beautiful.

Couple words of advice:

1. Never explain a trailer (especially not one with English subtitles). It's the trailer's job to explain itself.
2. Here on the forums it's much more useful to explain:

a. how you shot it
b. how you colored it
c. what gear you used
d. what settings you used

Helps the community out. Hive Mind you know?

What the hell is this?

You mean to tell me that WHOLE THING was shot on the 7D and 5DMK2?

THAT'S INSANE!!!

Hey... great video. Can you explain briefly the concept of anthropomorphic video and how it wound up uncompressing to 4k?

The A7S is truly an amazing thing... (And the rest of the video looks good, too!)

Excellent cinematography.

I'm really blown away by the images coming out of the 5D3. In terms of quality it might not technically be as powerful as a GH4 or A7S... but in terms of actually finished videos... there's really no contest.

...at least not yet.

Can you tell me a bit about the lenses and grading you used?
#24
Wow... That's the best music video I've seen since the Berlin Music Video awards last year.

I think it's one of those cases where the video is waaaaaay better than the song. :)

How did you do the last shot where the camera was backing out of the apartment? A gimbal?

Ooooh... I really liked it until that "CrossFit Navigate" still with all the info.  It was just kinda... "BLAH."  I mean everything else looks so great... even the little logo animation at the end. The Crossfit Navigate thing just looks like a cheap thrown together photoshop thing with no sense of design or layout.

But the video is very cool. :)
