You no longer need the fir on there, that's just the firmware (.fir) updater and deleting it is probably so you don't accidentally do it again later.

hmmm, this is my first post because I've just been enjoying the ML ride, but it's annoying because I'm only doing so to subscribe to this topic as there appears to be no other way to do so.
