@markus: about your point 2, when i have to do batch renaming i use this software: http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php
it's free and very powerful, full of rules that can help in batch renaming
#2
@arturochu, you can simply overwrite the actual cr2hdr in the tools folder with the new one, and should work

...And the ufraw-batch thing, yeah it's done it a couple times for me.. it's not a good program it seems. But I gotta process the tiffs somehow for ffmpeg. I will try with nconvert and see how well it process the dng's. For now I get a pink cast all over the dng's, I can fix it with "autobalance" but it changes a lot of things i don't want. Any help would be appreciated!

i'm not a programmer, so unfortunately i cannot help you except but trying your software and report what i see. but, i've seen a lot of people using gimp that has similar problems with ufraw, so agree with you, probably it's not a good program. anyway, some of them have resolved using http://rawtherapee.com/ instead.
i don't know if it can be usable with your software, but seems to be opensource, and free.

same problem here (windows 8.1 x64), also tried some compatibility modes for converter and also for ufraw-batch.exe, but no luck.

hi tony,
and thanks for the fast answer. I've downloaded the new version and tried. But unfortunately dosen't work for me.
i load my mlv file, then right click to activate dual iso processing. and on the table, the dual iso propery is on yes. but the tab on the bottom remains grey, and if i export the dng sequence is with the line :\
any hint?

[EDIT]
i'm too impatient, i was looking at the dng files during the process (because the mlv is quite long and the rendering time is a lot), but now i've stopped, and i can see that the video converter is doing the dual iso conversion from the "lineish" dng extracted from mlv. great, and sorry for my mistakes. i really love this software, vveeery useful. thanks a lot

1.9.1:

- Fixed the proxy bug, it was very silly. Sorry about that. Should be working fine now.

You will see more options but disabled, that's because I was in the middle of implementing new stuff and hurried to fix this urgent bug.

Cheers!

hi, and wow, this software is very useful. i've installed now, first time i use mlv files and trying to experiment about dual iso files also.
all is working fine, but i have some things disabled in the interface (i guess because of the hurry of fixing the proxy bug).
in the specific i have all the "mlv rewrite" and "dual iso" tabs grey and not active. and basically if i export to a dng sequence, the dng files are with the lines (so not processed, i guess).
i don't know if it is about the version of software (tried to download old versions following the links on the thread, but unfortunately they are no more online).
how can i process a dual iso mlv? am i doing something wrong, or simply i have to wait?
thank you so much for the great work ;)

Hi guys,
just buyed today a 5d mkiii. I'm already using ml with 60d and 6d. i've read all i found about 5d mkiii ml development, and as i understood there's no safe way to disable bootflag from the camera and with the bootflag the camera needs seconds to switch on. correct?
So the first post on this thread suggest to use the "non autoboot" way, updating the firmware every time, or try at your own risk the developer version, hoping that sometimes in the future will be possible to disable the boot flag on the camera.
I've tried the alpha3 version. It works, but cannot see the most of magic lantern things (that's probably what is in the alpha3). So my question is, the only way to shoot raw, to use timelapse functions etc, is to use the developer firmware updater (enabling the boot flag) and using the nightly build?
Or is possible to have access to those functions also with the non-developer fir and doing every time the fir install procedure?
i've tried to put the files of the nightly in the same card of the FIR, but magic lantern still display only the alpha3 voices of menu.

thank you guys :)

wow guys, this new Method For day\night timelapses is better t'han every Method i've used before, very stable deflickering and ettr is pretty useful, Great work guys

hi all,
i've already posted somewhere else, because i don't know where is the right place.
anyway, i'm on a 6d with the latest build. i'm trying to figure out how to use auto ettr module with intervalometer and post deflickering, using xmp files and lightroom.
I've already readed all around about that, and i have the xmp working in lightroom, using bluk renamer for the date issue.
But the problem is that i have alway bad values for deflickering.
i will try to explain with realworld examples:

Deflicker target level: -1ev
values from +8 to +9 (instead of what i will expect, from -1 to +1 or something similar. the scene is correctly exposed, and the autoettr seem to work fine)

Deflicker target level: -8ev
the most usable (but not at all) with values from 0 to 5 (or something like that).
now the point is that acr and lightroom can handle only 4 ev stops, and all the xmp is written with 3.99.

am i doing something wrong?
#11
hi all, and sorry if i'm off topic, but i've readed all in the forum about xmp deflicker without solving my issue.
basically my problem is that the exposure compensation calculated and displayed on liveview when i shoot a timelpse with ettr and delickering activated is alway way over the +4/-4 range. so my xmp is full of +3.99 compensation intead of the correct one. tried all the cominations of ev in deflicker, and also in ettr but cannot have correct exp compensation.
if it' not clear i can post some combinations of settings i use

hi mtfreestyler,
in the overlay menu you have to enable ghost image, and if you press q on it you have to select autoupdate to on.

and for the developers, thank you for this great feature, really useful. i've noticed that if i halfpress the shutter before ml finish to save the ghost, a false (corrupted?) ghost come instead of the correct one. but i don't know if it's avoidable, and anyway, it's not a big problem, just to know it ;))

Hardware and Accessories / Re: samyang 8mm

I have all the samyang lenses, and this is one of my favs. It's a pretty good lens, perfect for video, and for shooting too, in my opinion. a little bit soft wide open (but every lens is), but if you close down just a bit is extremely sharp, and it's perfect for 360panos too. Definitively a good buy ;)

@dlang: i think what you need is fps override, with a low framerate (like 2fps or less).

had the same idea, what's better than a "play" icon?
+1 ;)
and i like all the other posts, the new gui concept is every day better. great work guys

i can understand. The only reason because i've proposed it, is because hiding items around change the "visual apparence" of the menus, so you can have things in different locations than expected. A way to avoid this could be to have the mymenu and all the things already present in mymenu are not visible in the others menu, but the empty place is there (don't know if my english was understandable)

or, the opposite alternative, could be to hide mymenu in junkie mode

Great Alex, i love the way you set a point here. agree completely with your keybindings, as i've though from the beginning of this discussion, i prefer the q and set roles you gave. So for me is perfect ;)

Had problems with hiding menus only the first time i used it, but really was a "half useful" thing. Probably i prefer the idea of "my menu" instead. Agree with Alex, it's more "set and forget" and i like a lot the idea

So, no 3rd level, no need to use the "menu" button (really not the best in fast operations).
And about the set and the q, it's not only a habit matter, the canon menu (as 1% observed) use set for toggling things and q only for quick menu. Anyway i suggest to implement something similar to the menu -> erase swap in the properties, that one used to swap between canon menu and ML activation. We can use someting similar in the preferences for Q and SET buttons, so who wants to use set for toggle can do it, and who prefer q can do it too

Agree with Alex about all. I love the improvements in usability in the graphical design, but agree about set & q (more usable with the old behaviour) and also agree about the onehanded approach (more fast and useful).

Agree with nanomad, the left icons for me are useful because you have an immediate feedback about the generic status of a function (green or red dot ecc). And really the space that icons use is not so much
