Camera-specific discussion / Re: Canon 750D

That's the point.  We have a method to set bootflag on Digic 6 cams but we don't have much else. Portable Display Test file may work, though.
But still looking for something like "Hello, World!" running along with Canon's firmware loaded.

Tons and tons of work and unchartered waters ahead.

Yes, 7D stub test with previous build hangs after
[Pass] edmac_memcpy_start(dst, scr, size) => 0x429100b8
with LED on. Latest build completes with zero errors.

Haven't tested edmac.mo and raw_twk.mo yet.

Sure it does. Lens without an encoder are not able to do this. Same with old Canon EF 50/1.8 II and others.

AFAIK this lens doesn't write focus distance info to EXIF. I suppose there is no encoder built in.
Please double check with an exif viewer of your choice.
If you need focus distance in post you may use Exiftool.

Latest nightly build contains commit 4ce4d28 with description "700D, 6D, 7D: fix AbortEDmac".
Is there anything to test on 7D for mere users?

Just saw 700D.115 got merged into unified and nightly build has been built about 100 minutes ago, links updated, etc. Congrats and thanks for your work, dfort (and of course to a1ex, too)!

Ergo new serious recruits would be a fresh and good idea.

You are preaching to the choir. This has been an issue as long as I can remember. Unmaintained cams, blindly maintained cams and a1ex (and other) constantly asking for people to look after those neglected. Offering low entry coding task teasers, offering assistance. It wasn't without success. See Nikfreak's ports + dfort's porting EOS M to latest firmware version.
And Digic 6 is around us since 2014, November (7D2) and a generous offer (750D for free) for anyone willing to port a 750D is still open. Only lately we saw substantial progress: Bootflags for Digic 6 cams.
So: What do you expect? If you have any ideas we all will listen ...

Advocatus Diaboli: Why bother? A few years ago affordable cams offering state-of-the-art video simply didn't exist. Now you can get them and some are cheaper than 5D4.

If you got different answers it may mean there is someone doing it wrong. May I ask where the information about "not downgradeable" comes from? Link please.

Don't want to sound like a loser but I'm curious about "The Usual Suspects" keeping radio silence about the subject. Did I piss off the party?

EDIT: Permissions fixed (I hope) ...

Module tab -> RAW_REC.mo -> Restart -> Movie tab -> RAW video -> [Q] -> Bit depth

Ceterum censeo experimental build page esse delendam.

Please make up your mind:
Unified = Nightly Build
Nightly Build and Experimental Builds are *not* identical.
What are you taking about? See Help tab (bottom lines) for status.

You will find the forum discussion about 10/12-bit linked on experimental page telling you which module to use for this feature.

Raw Video / Re: EXfat problem, can't record big files on 5Dmarkiii
« on: September 10, 2017, 02:26:07 PM »
Depends. If you are *not* using MLV_Lite (always a good idea to mention the module you are actually using. Same goes for build version) which doesn't support files > 4 GB: Video tab -> RAW video (MLV) -> [Q] -> Files > 4GiB (exFAT) = ON

As written above: It's not included in unified = nightly build. You have to use experimental builds.

? According to 1300D thread devs are using QEMU and existing ML code is not intended to run on real cameras.
