Title: Canon EOS M6
Post by: krisr on September 13, 2017, 10:19:02 PM
Hey everyone. I'm new to this community and ML. I'm curious...is there a build that will run on an M6?

I have been waiting for this too since I got my M6 when first came out.  I love ML on my other Canon DSLR so it be cool to hack this one too.

I'm pretty sure it runs powershot firmware. Check out CHDK (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK).

Hello. Back again looking to see if there's an update. I'm looking to see if the Canon M6 is supported. I see that its listed under "Rom dumper" but I'm not sure what that means.

It dumps ROM content (aka (and simplified): Canon's firmware) to a memory card.

Ok, so it looks like I'm out of luck until someone can port ML to an M6. Doesn't seem like enough M6 users out there to gain much interest or demand to make this happen. Will check back later.

There will be no ML for M6. Cam hosts PowerShot code. Lookup CHDK, it's in their realm.

AFAIK there are no developers with M6 on CHDK forum.
