Title: SL1 Raw-is card slot too slow for raw 1980?
Post by: pittguy578 on August 12, 2017, 08:57:38 PM
I just got a used SL1 and installed ML
No matter what I do I can't get 1980 raw or else I keep getting error that it stopped AutoMagically
I can get 1280 with no issues. Is it impossible to get 1980 on SL1 due to limited card speed?
Is just increasing the non-raw bit rate to 2.0 or greater get you close to Raw at 1980?

Yes you are right, SL1 is limited due to its OWN sd card interface; which means buying a faster card will not help.
And 2.0 bitrate is not the same as Raw, Raw is a different and much higher quality codec vs h.264.

You will be limited to 1280 with 14 bit raw, but there is a build with 10 and 12 bit recording on the experiments page that should get you higher resolutions.
