Title: ML Won't Install - Canon 60D with 1.1.2 Firmware
Post by: nickolaitheinformant on March 15, 2017, 12:58:12 AM
Greetings ML Team,

So I have a Canon EOS 60D and somehow ended up with firmware version 1.1.2

I've tried downloading the version of Magic Lantern for the 60D but it doesn't recognize my newer firmware.

Do I have to downgrade my firmware somehow to 1.1.1 to try out Magic Lantern or is there a way we can work with my 60D at 1.1.2?

Really just looking to monitor audio levels on screen!

Best,

Nickolai

The instructions on the download page:
Quote
Installation
1. Format the card from the camera.
2. Make sure you are running Canon firmware 1.1.1 (downgrade if needed).
3. Copy ML files on the card and run Firmware Update.

Hi,
I also have a 60d with 1.1.2 firmware.  Unfortunately, Canon only has the last version up on their web site and when I contacted their support to get the previous version they said they couldn't help me - they only maintain the latest version (actually they said they "could certainly help me with that", told me they could not get me the previous version, then asked if they could help me with anything else)  ::)
Any ideas on where to find a copy of the 1.1.1?

Top of page -> Downloads -> Download Nightly Builds -> 60D, 60Da -> Installation. And follow the link. If you are on OS X/macOS -> Unzip file and proceed.
You will find Install Guide and FAQ on top of page, too -> User Guide

I found a version of 1.1.1 at the following site:

https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SCANNER-Digital-CAMERA-WEBCAM/CANON/Canon-EOS-60D-Camera-Firmware-111.shtml

Seems to have done the trick!
