Title: Render cDNG video for upload to youtube
Post by: ibrahim on December 14, 2015, 07:26:52 PM
Hi,

I have edited a 14 min long video (cDNGs footage) in Pr CC 2015. I used the DnxHD codec 444 1080p 24fps for the rendering using Media Encoder CC 2015. It took almost 8 hours for the render to complete. I tried uploading it to youtube and it failed to be processed.

What codecs are the best to use for rendering bearing in mind that I want to preserve most quality as possible.

Thanks in advance

h264 is what most video streaing website like the most. You can choose the amount of compression usually. good quality is 4 upwards

Youtube HD (1080p) videos are about 5 megabyte/s H.264 in MP4 file.
Youtube probably rerenders the file so a little higher bitrate for uploading like 10Mb/s H.264  should do the trick.

I'm using PC.

I've used H.264 at 20Mbps at yet the picture quality has decreased (making it darker than my original DNG sequences).

Can I use an alternative youtube-friendly codec to maintain better image quality ?
